Yea better to practice caution for now. I know of people who are still in Shanghai and won't be back until end of this month and they are honestly a little terrified now. I personally wouldn't step back into SH until all these clears up.

There is a longstanding and prominent Singaporean restaurant along Fuzhou Road.

It's RMB50 for 1 way in the maglev. When paying at the counter, pass them your arrival boarding ticket stub for a RMB10 discount.

Waldorf Astoria and Fairmont Peace hotel is right at the bund, do a search on those 2 places.

The Maglev train does not exactly enter Shanghai. It reaches Longyang, Pudong, in the outskirts of Shanghai, where you have to transfer to the MRT which will take you across the river to the city proper.

Not really, if it's your first time in Shanghai, you should try the Maglev. The feeling of the ride is interesting (you don't really have a chance to take it anywhere else I think).

If you look at the Shanghai Metro map, there's a Loyang station at Line 2 on the right hand side. That is where the Maglev stops at (8 mins ride I think). From there, you exit the Maglev station and walk to the Loyang underground subway station (it's just next to Maglev station).

Shanghai is split between Pudong and Puxi by the Huangpu river in the middle. East of river is Pudong, west of river is Puxi.

If taking by Metro during rush hours, be prepared to be squeezing like sardines (after this experience, squeezing in Singapore MRT is more relaxed hehe). Transferring between lines does also take some time. May take even up to 5-10mins just to transfer from one line to another.

You can also take the Taxi at Loyang station, there's a taxi stand there. Becareful of Black taxis (illegal private cars).

Yes you should take the maglev. Very fast and nice experience. I usually don't bother with taxis cause it will take longer especially with the bad jams.
