those who are thinking of getting, this brand , dont.

Just get oppo .

Wifu's r8s pro, either has a camera overheating function or asomething else, just kept force rebooting the device.

bought her a new oppo find x9 and it was MUCH better.

Whatsapp ALMOST couldnt transfer because of the illogical programming for the camera, and QR code scanning

again, nothing against those who like the phone , the style. But this brand , is really ought to be ban.

2 years of usage, 2 years of listening all the buggy issues , and its my fault for trusting [ JP brand ]

a warning to those, better backup and jump over to others, even vivo with is buggy Origin OS is still much better than this junk ive wasted my money on.

I'm using the R9 Pro, and my only complain is the updates. The interval between updates is too long.

best , do yourself a favor, and switch to oppo asap.

their hardware is years behind, far worst than samsuk.

anyone saying its good, i really feel pity.

its on "par" with sony's problems, but at least sony delivers the video ..... and walkman if any left

My wife is using Sense 10. Only complain is the camera image quality is trash. Battery life is good and storage size started off 256 Gb which is plenty for her use. The rest she say she can live with it.

Ya, i have the Sense 8, Sense 10, and R8s Pro. Their camera's quite abit behind other competitors. Guess i like it for the close to stock android experience and no AI integrated stuff.

Used to own Oppo flagship phone years back, but discontinued using after green & red lines started to appear on the screen after about 1 year of usage. Don't really like ColorOS, it's heavily skinned with bloatwares. Update isn't regular also.

There is no prefect phone around. If you can live with it, then it's good for you. If you can't, just change it. Afterall, it's your choice, your money...no one force you to use. Most important is just buy whatever phone that suits you.

Oh sorry, unknowingly given you, the Sharp fan , unsolicited advice , my bad and apologies.

For the rest, just dont bother with whatever crap jp brands.

even their own folks, who are into actual cameras, or phones, cant seem to put Sharp we see here, not their true blue ketais , on recommendations.

where vivo, oppo, xiaomi dominates.

true it may be the era of samsung is the next Sony down fall, thankfully we gotten the best alternatives with decent design.

yea, 2 years of my 1k purchase, just wasted since day one, because or the slowness, the heat issue, the bugs, and lack of patching ,

thats on me for even thinking its [ JP pride quality ] .

signing out this for those who still might harbour any hopes. Dont, family time is more important than trying to run the gauntlet of troubleshooting and nonexistent workarounds.

just get them oppo please,

you dont want to spend time listening their frustration . [ sending pictures, backing up, editing photos, point and shoot ]

get the x9 / pro, done with it. or up coming x10.

be glad, both of your spouses, havent gotten issues like mine did with camera overheating and rebooting ..

Agreeable on close to stock, but lacks what stock android UI / UX can do .

Frankly Sharp is like that lost socially awkward kid, who got lucky once, couldnt read the room, and insist on being natural to its roots but forgo the rules of event and requirements. [ my own opinions]

I didn't said I'm a Sharp fan, my next phone won't be a Sharp. I just enjoy using stock or near stock UI, not into heavily skinned UI with bloatwares. Enjoy your Oppo.

Actually Oppo is not that popular compared to Apple and Samsung. I bought Oppo (not flagship) for my parent and couldn’t find many users who could give me advice on some of the issues encountered. Someone (younger generation) using the lower mid-range Reno model told me when texting, there was often a lag in the keyboard. Oppo software update is not very regular and may have bugs from what their users posted in Oppo Community. I found out that different Oppo models have different features for basic stuff like how to receive calls. The staff at their own hotline don’t seem to know their phones very well. Vivo is also not updating its lower end models much. A lot of older models are still on sale. I think Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi concentrate R&D on the camera quality of their flagship phones esp in their home market but they still lose out in terms of software update frequency, consistency and stability.

I'd say everyone has their favorite, or a preferred brand.

Like few years back, i'd replaced my mum's Microsoft phone with a Xiaomi phone and that broke down within a year. Funnily, Xiaomi always worked fine for me and i have no complaints. She'd say the brand sucks and she won't consider Xiaomi again. I replaced that with an Oppo phone, and her latest Oppo phone has lasted her more than 3 years now.

Then my wife and daughter are using Xiaomi / Poco. And they have no problems with theirs. When i'd suggested if they like to get a newer phone, and change to other brands, they refused.

I'd guess Bradenheat must have been frustrated with his wife complaining about the R8S pro's problem frequently, so he's happy to have replaced it, and make his wife happy.

End of the day, get a phone that suits the needs / preference of yourself, or the person you are buying for. For myself, Sharp has the advantage where they still make smaller phones, while keeping the MicroSD card and stock Android experience. I don't take too many photos, and also don't see the need to chase for monthly software updates. I'm using the Sense 10 (previously Sense 8) with Battery Saver mode on. And with light gaming, web browsing, and social media use, i charge my phone once every 5 to 6 days. It's good enough for me.

Oppo had issues with the green lines because it was using OLED screens made by Samsung. Not sure if it has changed to another supplier or if Samsung has improved its screens to prevent this kind of problem.

Hate Sharp for not able to arrange the app drawer by alphabetical order. I got to use a separate launcher when I using Sharp...

my point for posting, is simply to tell the rest considering this brand : dont.

the initial 3months from 2024, was just bad after the 3rd week, when the complaints mounted , especially the heat.

the frustration from her, mounted all the way,

from sudden freeze, to pure heating up from taking photos, to randomly crashing wifi / cell 4g and 5G

it goes on.

and when people DEFEND, the flaws, it just doesnt make sense, but i digress here [ not you, psychotik.]

if folks admit , like xiaomi users and oppo do , regarding the software or the general iOS likeness etc, consistently and the other huge flaws [ all the threads folks arent fangirling just for the hardware, theres a few of us telling folks the problems it has from the brands ]

btw, the compactness you might want to turn to vivo x200FE.

thought the frustration might be as bad as Sharp's Aquos, but as a daily driver, OriginOS is decent, much better , at least base on my x200 U usage.

the mid range Renos, at least still got all day battery, for their price range. Admittedly, the older OPPO Reno7 5G, ive gotten 5 years ago [ before this crap sharp] , she only mentioned : eh how come faster and more stable and less hot

For now, xiaomi has plenty of odd bugs after the HyperOS bodoh got pushed, and vivo, as you know, doesnt follow up on their OS , hence why they decided to just merge everything into single OriginOS [ smart move ] .

not gonna deny the huge flaws of vivo X, which comes with alot of warning labels from the existing users, apart from the international ones, V and Y series.

@torrent06 everyone knows apart from the die hards, especially one who cant communicate through, still stuck in the 2000s

its the same , but at least acknowledged, sonyfan boys : their own branding keeps insisting on using 1 gen or 1 tier below their China competitors.

again, im frustrated yes,

mad ? not really, because ive been able to get a stable and usable phone which doesnt require me to figure out through AI deep search and processing

those offended by my statements, im not sorry, because its really bad.

- heat
- battery
- random reboots / DC from network.
- no custom drawers, folders
- apps that dont render or play well.

the pros ?

1 inch and 3.5mm, thats it , that cost me near 1k. [ dont even get me started on the accessories ]

Hello. I am curious, why didn't you send the phone back for an exchange? If you did and the problem persist, did you ask their technicians why? Genuinely curious because they sell the same phones in Japan, Taiwan and Indonesia which works fine?

Bought from shopee,

where is the servicing ?

know how it will get serviced ? its all places far and likely queuing up for queue number.

no spare phones for her nor does she want to switch temporarily just to get a 3rd world product and still having the same performance issues.

vs ,

just "wait and tank " and then get oppo

and yes, the way you ask is really weird, do you want to help me troubleshoot, 1:1 exchange, bring the item etc ?

no right ?

if you wont, wouldnt , why the heck would my wife or even i go through so much trouble ?

if you're a fanboy , apologies, if not, rethink why im responding "harshly " as it is

I don't think it is unreasonable to ask if you had the phone checked. It's the same for every other brand and product. If it is not working properly, you use the warranty to get the product checked or replaced. It just seems illogical to me how angry and vehemently against the phone you are and yet you didn't attempt to do something about it while it was under warranty.

its equally un-reasonable, to assume :

- where i work, where i stay, can be easily rendered to servicing.
- the checks, still needs to be ticketed, over call etc. The time it takes to do that [ whilst having no phone for my wife] ever thought about it ?

-im angry towards your nonsense or lack of critical and crucial understanding :

can you help troubleshoot, someone who will not be able to switch to another phone , base on whatsapp and work apps ?

if you had a partner , or parent ,that relies heavily on a single phone AND cannot afford the down time [ assume here, its immediate repair or a day or two ]

then in the mean time , HOW ?

i would have just ignored you and the post, but you're really asking for it.

and the others who are in agreement to you, about troubleshooting , solve the problem of moving the data to another spare phone.

then the next issue : moving back, just to have the same crappy experience of shutting down, over heating from using the camera.

get it or not, this is what and why sometimes : talk is cheap

R9 fingerprint sucks. I guessed they don't have spare parts for repairs locally. So just give you R10. Haha, but it's a good deal for you.
