This is as far as I can clock my 7800GT.. any higher and I'll get artifacts in BF2 only, but 3DMark05 etc will not have artifacts, not sure why, but as long as my BF2 has artifacts, I'll lower the clock, artifact ingame is not tolerable... so I just left it at the least overclocked speed.

Core: 493
Memory: 1150

Shinji_U, go for the highest OC core/mem speed you can get before 05 show artifacts. Dun really need to test out using BF2, since its a 05, u are aiming to get higher marks than anything else. For BF2, a stock 7800GT is more than enough to run it.....

4ghz of ram??...
So much ram???
Anyway, its seems the 1st batches of 78GTs were better...
My fren bought his @ 729 when it 1st released...
Default testing(coolbits auto o/c) gave 500/1180..
Further o/c gave 515/1210 and he left it @ those settings playing WoW & BF2...
(Dunno is the card dead yet.. haha)

My Setup gave me 8019 in 3Dmark05.
My 7800GT was clock @ 473/1260 and my Pentium M @ 2.6ghz @ 217 FSB, 1.55vcore

But since my aim was to keep power lower, i'm clocking @ 2.34Ghz for normal use. With a Zalman CNPS-7000, my loaded temperature @ 2.6Ghz was around under 60degree.

My criteria of overclocking is to attain overclock speed WITH stability.

To me, overclocking without stability is mediocre, overclocking just to get higher numbers isn't my game and I'm not even interested in high overclocking numbers from a system that can't run 24x7 without showing signs of instability.

What for if I overclock my system so high get huge digits but not stable...

My game is to overclock and still my system is stable to run 24x7.

That's my defination of overclocking.

The problem is u cant really tell a diff in real life gaming unless its in benchmarking.
For example, u reach this speed, its stable in benching but not in gaming and cant run 24x7. Then u reduce speed of 20 in both core and mem. Now its stable in both benching and gaming. But can you tell a diff in the drop of 20mhz? I dun think so, unless its running benchmark, then u can tell a diff.

I think because of dual-core, and there are two of them. Is that the reason it was so high? I am not sure. Not familiar with 3dmark06 individual components.
