thanks. i gotten one before you actually replied, as i was looking more to a HTPC or a Nvidia Shield TV for my steamlink/ps4 remote play. i guess this should be a better deal after the cost which is SGD$399 with discount. Now i can game on my master bedroom TV laio.

Only one thing about the nvme ssd speed which i posted in another thread for help. The nvme ssd is a Intel Pro 6000p 256gb rated at 1500mb read and 500mb write.

Did crystalmarkinfo the ssd is only on pcie 3.0 x2 speed and not pcie 3.0 x4. So i guess thats why my crystalmark result is 1040mb read and 500mb write. I cant get it to run on pcie 3.0 x4...........

Else. In the review video it state its wifi is only 1 antenna. i opened mine and confirm my set have 2 x internal antenna. So thinking if i should pay $20 to get a intel wifi 6 AX200 pcie card to replace and should i upgrade to 2x8gb ram.
THe 2x4GB ram that come with it have crucial chip in it at 2666mhz speed.

Have installed GTA V and need for speed - Most wanted to try play with the system. Its doing well. overall a very good HTPC for it.

RAM wise, I believe the Ryzen 5 2500U only supports up to 2400Mhz. At least that is the official speed that AMD marketed. This got bumped up to 2666 for the Zen+ refresh. Nonetheless, 16GB is ideal if you are considering to play some games on it.

Yes, but knowing Asus, the product is not expected to be cheap. After all, they are the first to release a NUC sized PC based on Renoir processor.

Good to a Ryzen solution in a NUC form factor. However if one can accept a slightly bigger size with the STX form factor, I feel the Aftershock Vision Mini based off the Asrock Deskmini is still better in value vs performance. Without OS and with a Ryzen 5 3400G, its below 600 bucks (almost 100 bucks higher) with a local 3 years warranty. Just my opinion.

The design of the case does not have good airflow, compared to Asrock mini-pc.
From my experience will shun all these designs without a long term warranty. Even for Ryzen in aircon, the heat build-up is no joke and overtime it will toast the components if not properly ventilated...

The Aftershock Vision Mini is a very attractively priced system, and comes with local warranty. The system is more powerful with a desktop class processor, but on the flipside, it draws more power.

Cooling wise, it will have to do better because its has to keep a 65W processor cool vs this Mini PC uses a 15W processor. I feel the older Zen and Zen+ Ryzens are surprisingly not as hot at stock, as the Zen 2 chips. I can't validate that myself, but looking at some of the reviews of Ryzen 5 3400G and Ryzen 3 3100/3300X, the latter runs much faster, but seems to run hotter (perhaps due to higher clockspeed). I suspect the main reason is that the chiplets are smaller and harder to cool.

I feel the newer Deskmini will certainly cost more than the older version. Despite the fact that X300 is just as old as the A300, it is considered as the top end chipset, so will not be the same in cost as the budget A series chipset. As for A500, I am not sure what is the key difference from A300, but because its new, I don't think it will be as cheap as the A300.

As for the APU itself, it really depends if you are looking at the 4, 6 or 8 core version. If you are comparing prices of Renoir vs the existing Picasso APU, then the 4 core Renoir is your closest comparison. As you go up to 6 or 8 cores, it should not be surprising that it will cost more if you take cue from the current Ryzen 5 3600 and Ryzen 7 3700X prices.

The difference in the HSF height is quite substantial. I feel they may stick to only the Wraith Stealth height since it is rated for 65W processors. Considering that the laptop Renoirs are coping very well with very poor cooling solutions in laptops (even the 45W ones), I feel a Wraith Stealth should manage an Ryzen 3 or 5 APU quite easily.

As for the prices, just trying to manage your expectations. My take is that it will likely cost about the same as the current Zen 2 CPUs by virtue that you are getting another APU that will also cost $$. And being a monolith design, as oppose to the chiplet design, there will be cost involved too.

Don't have to speculate. Another few more months and we will know.
