if you dont stress the cpu it runs about ~4w and heat dont exceed 60deg. im waiting for my $60 athlon 3000g soon to put in deskmini cos i sold away 2400G at a profit
Not a ryzen mini pc but recently found a pricing error in lazada. It was a listing for 512GB + 8GB mini pc. Seller was new so could combo with shop vouchers.
After I buy and seller shipped, the listing price changed to correct price
Surprisingly item was delivered and wasn't cancelled. Actual model is Beelink X45. Processor turned out to be J4105 which is good for 4k content.
Size is even smaller than maibenben PC25 and asrock deskmini
Specs were legitimate. Dual channel 2400Mhz 8GB ram, 512GB m.2 sata. Inside mini pc have slot for wireless card and 2.5" sata
No idea what to use this pc for as it was impulse buy
My dad is using the system, So I can't really comment. But I guess it is possible for the fan speed to generate a lot of noise as it ramps up. The system uses a 35W variant of the APU which I feel will still lead to quite a fair bit of heat output. under heavy load Usually this sort of cooling system are used for systems that are say 15 to 25W kind of processor. I believe it is also normal for pre-assembled PCs to not allow you meddle with the fan settings. Based on my experience, Lenovo can be quite aggressive to increase fan speed. Even with light usage, or watching a 1080p YouTube show, the fan is very audible in my Lenovo Thinkpad and Ideapad that I used previously.

Yeah, the price difference is quite substantial, though there are slight differences in the specs and also the inclusion of a Win 10 Pro license for the Minisforum UM250. The Maibenben Mini PC don't come with a Windows license, so will also add to the cost. Just an FYI for potential buyers.except the price vs prc oem.great review btw.
I am not surprise its throttling, that's why it can't keep up. Even at 4 Ghz, the temps are in the mid 90s. The cooling solution is woefully inadequete to allow the CPU to boost for a prolong period of time, especially when you consider the fact that it needs 35W to boost. In a nutshell, current Intel chips cannot effectively compete in the mobile space. Even the 10nm SuperFin actually requires a lot of power to boost, despite the advertised 15W TDP. So if the laptop comes with subpar cooling, it will throttle a lot.I got a chance to play with ThinkCentre M90n. n stands for nano and it is 0.35L in volume, bigger than larkbox 0.16L... It is no longer sold by lenovo but I think it cost around $800 in 2019

Ports seems plenty. but you need adapter for display unless you have display port monitor. no hdmi. i use usb c to vga. Even that display dongle wasn't provided in box.
One stupid thing is that it doesn't come with wifi … so have to waste a precious usb port. Even smaller computers like larkbox have wifi... likes to boost to 4.5GHz so it gets really hot
No option to reduce power consumption. However there is a registry edit that lets you set maximum frequency so it doesnt run at 4GHz all the time even when idling
Even at 35w 4GHz, 8th gen i7 is really lousy. a 15w 2500u ryzen beats it. Vega 8 is also 50% faster

Conclusion: Intel is hot and more expensive. Buy acer ryzen laptop or maibenben 2500u mini pc is cheaper and faster than this thinkcentre M90n

0.35L is really small, so I am not expecting it to cool well. The M75q Gen 2 that I bought earlier for my dad is 1 L and I already find it very small, i.e. slightly bigger than the fiber internet modem. I feel the 0.35L system is more for people to use for digital signage, and thus, the Type C and DP ports for daisy chaining.
I think the Nano is going to be really small or short in height beside the already small Maibenben Mini PC.
Can it? There are no Mac running AMD processor, so I am skeptical you can do that.
I think there is no AMD chipset driver support on Mac since there is no AMD SKU. So chances of getting it to work without issue is unlikely. Your only option is to get an Intel based NUC again. You can consider the Mac mini M1 sometime down the road. While its still pricey, the base model is actually cheaper than the Intel version, and at the same time a lot faster. I would even say that it may be a better option than buying an Intel NUC bare bone system which can easily set you back 600 to 900 bucks for the i3 or i5 model, since you still need RAM, SSD and OS to run.
