just select i don't have a license key when you reinstall windows.

This generally doesn't matter because assuming you take the CPU out, I am not sure if you can just drop another different CPU in to replace. Normally OEM systems have all sorts of restrictions to deter people from reusing or meddling with the parts.

that ltt video they tried using the apu on another mobo and it doesn't boot. they tried another apu on the lenovo mobo (it works btw) and press yes to system lock it (called PSB), now that the apu is locked it doesn't work on other mobo anymore..

tldr is, it's locking the apu to lenovo mobo, not locking the lenovo mobo to the apu. which suck cause cpu is the least likely to die, so ppl cannot savage parts later on...

Hello everyone,

Want to get one of the Gigabyte Brix Extreme mini pc. But unsure of the following. My use case is excel warrior, words slayer, email spammer, Meradio listener, whatsapp forwarder all at once. Not a gamer, video creator, photoshopper. Will be jamming the set with 32GB ram + 1TB M.2 nvme SSD.

1) Where can I get a set from? Don’t seem like SLS shops are promoting it?
2) Would a mini pc like Gigabyte Brix Extreme suffice for my use case?
3) I read that integrated TPM module is available in certain regions/countries. Is SG one of them? I suppose this TPM is necessary for future proofing win11 requirements.
4) I read that the Brix MOBO Bios are sole.proprietary. How often and easy it is to get a BIOS update? It is as seamless like updating a gigabyte MOBO BIOS?


anyone with experience using mini pc, share your experience. Also anyone with contacts of vendors or can point me to distributor selling Gigabyte Brix Extreme would be greatly helpful. TIA TIA…

yeah doesnt look like sls sells them, though regular brix and brix pro models are available from shops like dynacore and fuwell, along with their etailer fronts on lazada and shopee. if open to other brands, asus pn5x series might be easier to find.

yeah should be fine.

though it looks like ur worried about upgradability/support. if willing to compromise slightly on size, u can diy ur own sff system with industry standard parts for as low as 700 with 32gb ram + 1tb nvme.

the brix extreme is already smaller than standard mini itx boards, so if want to diy have to contend with slightly larger cases, though they are still very compact compared with most cases out there.

ive been building a few of these kinds of sff systems for a while now, so if ur interested u can pm me.

How about using InWin Chopin Pro as your SFF casing? No need additional power brick like the mini pc.

I’m more align to Brix and for example the Asus PN51 type of size. Partly because I might be lugging it between my destination vis my home. So if the thing is 20x20 will be a bit more bulky.

I don’t mind brix size + power brick as the brick is flexible and just wires. Other than Gigabyte/Asus…barring Intel NUC…what other brands also building mini pcs of this kind of sizes…
