Orbi860 do you think it’s good? Around $900+

It is good as a mesh system, especially when you need to use Wireless backhaul.

Not that good to fully utilize the 10Gbps bandwidth though since the main router has only one 10G WAN port and 4 1G LAN ports. The satellite has only for 1G ports. So wired devices will be limited to 1Gbps. Wireless device may be higher than 1Gbps (but less than 1.8Gbps).

But if you do not have 2.5G/10G wired devices and mainly rely on wireless, it is a good solution.

Xiaofan is the tplink 805 from myrepublic with 2 10g and 4 1g port good enough.

I just need 2 10g ports for wired connections to
1. my pc for gaming/torrents and
2. for ps5.

The rest of the 4g ports will be for tv...etc

Mesh not required, 1 router will suffice

TP-Link Archer BE805 is okay for your use case. One 10G port will be used as WAN port.
The other 10G port can be used by your gaming PC (need 10G NIC).

PS5 has only gigabit Ethernet port. So you just need to connect it to the 1G LAN port of the TP-Link Archer BE805.

would the m1 recontract offloading tplink wifi7 router on carousell for $100+ help increase wi-fi speed?

Compared to your old router? What is your old router? What are the main wireless clients of concerns?

As answered in another thread, TP-Link Archer BE230 is a low end dual band WiFi 7 router which you can treat it as a low end WiFi 6 router. But the good thing is that it has dual 2.5G ports, so it is a good fit for SIMBA 2.5Gbps if you want to have a low cost router. Even can be used for MR/VQ 3Gbps as well.

NO. Even though it is a local version, it is a dual band one without 6GHz band.

Technically they can still call it WiFi 7 router though, just like the China WiFi 7 routers. They do not support 6GHz band and no 320MHz channel bandwidth.

They do support other WiFi 7 features.
• Multi-Link Operation (MLO) -- not very useful for dual band WiFI 7 router for speed boost, more for noise immunity and latency
• 4K-QAM -- speed boost only at very close range
• Multi-RUs -- useful for reliability

https://www.tp-link.com/sg/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-be230/
WiFi Speeds BE3600
• 5 GHz: 2882 Mbps (802.11be)
• 2.4 GHz: 688 Mbps (802.11be)

So meaning to say that the router can’t utilise 10gbps speed

At most 4Gbps wired + wireless. For wireless, if you have 4 wireless device, it may get another 2Gbps or 3Gbps. So if you really can carry out SpeedTest with 8 devices at the same time, you may consume 6Gbps to 7Gbps, which will be very good already. But then who will do that???

In reality, no need to worry too much about whether possible to consume 8.2Gbps.

99.99% of the users who subscribe to 10Gbps plan can not consume more than 2Gbps other than when carrying out Speedtest or download big files.

Any other router to recommend beside Netgear Nighthawk RS700S to take advantage of the 10Gbps simba plan?

What is your budget?

10G capable WiFi 7 triband routers are pretty expensive now.

Cheapest (not locked to ISP like HB810 for ST and EB810v for SH) is probably TP-Link Archer BE805 dumped by MR users in Carousell at about S$400.

Probably about $600. Rooms are all wired with Cat 6. Just need one good router to take advantage of the 10G for my PC. Will probably reused my old google wifi for wireless coverage if the router signal can't reach my master bedroom (2-3 walls aways from router).

I see. I think TP-Link Archer BE805 is an okay option if you do not have high requirement for the FW features (can not compare with Asus but decent). If you can get it at around S$400 BNIB from Carousell, it is hard to beat in terms of price performance ratio.

Dongknows review:
https://dongknows.com/tp-link-archer-be805-be19000-wi-fi-7-router-review/

Right now 10G capable WiFi 7 routers (with 6GHz band) are just too expensive.

Challenger price for reference -- you may find better lobangs.
TP-Link Archer BE800 --> S$809
Asus ROG GT-BE98 --> S$1099
Deco BE85 --> S$1489 for dual-pack
Asus ZenWiFi BQ16 --> S$899

Some other options mentioned in this thread.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...port-switch-and-vq-xgs-pon-onu-stick.7047645/

Example: the following three do not have 6GHz band, and the 2nd 10G port is of SFP+ type. You may need a SFP+ 10GBase-T copper module (hot) if your other device is 10GBase-T RJ45 type.

1) Asus RT-BE88U, dual band BE7200, no 6GHz band [as of now only available from China]
1 x 10Gbps for WAN/LAN
1 x 10Gbps SFP+ for WAN
1 x 2.5Gbps for WAN/LAN,
3 x 2.5 Gbps for LAN,
4 x RJ45 10/100/1000Mbps for WAN/LAN

2) Xiaomi BE10000, triband BE10000, no 6GHz band, [as of now only available from China]
4×10/100/1000/2500M WAN/LAN
1×10/100/1000/2500/5000/10000M WAN/LAN
1×1000M/2500M/10000M SFP+ WAN/LAN

3) Asus RT-AX89X, WiFi 6
RJ45 for 10Gbps BaseT for WAN/LAN x 1,
RJ45 for 1Gbps BaseT for LAN x 8,
RJ45 for 1Gbps BaseT for WAN x 1
SFP+ x 1 for WAN/LAN

Thanks again xiaofan.
Decided against the eero max 7 upon your inputs.

I chance upon this Tp-Link Archer GE800 BE19000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Gaming Router for 667.

Seems to have all i want and need. Your inputs please.

That is a very good price for this high end and pretty decent WiFi 7 router from TP-Link.

Hopefully the shop is legitimate. Take note I am not good at finding lobangs myself.

Because orbi 860 has a 10gbps port…

I see. As mentioned, it is not a good match if you really care about consuming the full bandwidth (about 8Gbps) of the 10Gbps plan due to the fact that it has only one 10G WAN port and 4 gigabit LAN ports.

So i am guessing archer might be the best option then
