When overseas, need to use the app to call out or receive calls?

or can just call like in sg?

VOLTE phone user
Depends on whether the device can latch on the roaming network VoLTE.
If yes, can call through Native Dialer.

If no, must use TPG 4G Voice app.
Do note that not all networks can use the voice calling functionality. Please check the SIMBA FAQ for the list of compatible networks.

See info on this SIMBA (TPG) Web page with regards to calls & SMS while overseas:
https://support.simba.sg/hc/en-us/articles/4487047558681-Does-roaming-cover-calls-and-SMS-
From the above. my understanding is that:

If your phone supports native VoLTE calls on the SIMBA (TPG) network when in Singapore -- then the same phone should also be able to make/receive VoLTE calls when overseas -- provided the following 2 conditions are met:

+ You must connect to the correct SIMBA (TPG) partner telco when overseas.
+ The overseas SIMBA (TPG) partner telco must also support VoLTE calls on their network.

For the list of SIMBA (TPG) overseas partner telcos, see this link:
https://support.simba.sg/hc/en-us/a...l-partner-network-operator-s-per-destination-
In Singapore, if your phone don't support native VoLTE calls on the SIMBA (TPG) network -- then (of course) you can use the TPG 4G voice app for making/receiving calls.

The TPG 4G voice app can also be used overseas but only in these destinations:
Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, India, Japan and Taiwan

I see the list and VOLTE marked is only a few countries
Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, India, Japan and Taiwan

Does this mean only these countries can use the native dialer?

Hi all,

Is there a way to consolidate multiple simba mobile plan into a single account?
I wanted to port in a number into my existing simba account.

Possible?
Thanks

Nope, I ask the same question to simba support, they only support 1 email/account to 1 number ..

I wanted to do the above for easier management also

Yes, assuming your device supports VoLTE for those carriers listed.

Their system doesn't have that mechanism since the start.

just checking, anyone using simba data roaming in adelaide? reliable?
I used it in Sydney. It connected to Vodafone, which was usable but slow. But it was good enough to get from the airport to the hotel, then to the shop, where I got a local (Optus) prepaid card which I used for the rest of the trip.

I presume it would be similar in Adelaide.

Same experience in Gold Coast too - the free 1GB roaming on Vodafone was very slow.
But sufficient for Waze routing to nearest mall followed by activation of cheap local SIM prepaid card (Optus-based telco too) to replace it.

That is correct, if your mobile supports VoLTE. Otherwise you will need to use the SiMBA Voice App (was TPG 4G Voice App). Good thing is that they updated the voice app in the Play Store last week and now it shows the new logo but more important they have removed the country restrictions and I can now finally open & use it in Europe, however the information is not yet updated on their website as it seems... It still shows can only be used in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, India, Japan, Taiwan. But it now works in other countries too, I can confirm it works in France, Germany, Luxembourg... Maybe the rest of their roaming countries too, others can verify when they travel...

any performance or roaming difference with the $8 plan and the senior $5 plan apart from the free local data and talk time?

I know simba is not reliable for overseas roaming but sufficient for whatsapp/map etc so that will meet my traveling requirements.

Also, can simba support tethering ?
