ya... haha open youtube with 2160p60 at 2x speed whole night... ichy hand... consume about 2x power bank during the day, downloading large stuff from google drive and delete...

also upload the photo i take back home...

try the hotel wifi but realise chunghwa 4g a lot faster... lol

switch around 3 phones.. test the speed and hotspot capability... The samsung A22 (1.52TB) was the best with 5Ghz hotspot and tanky battery.. no overheating at all!

Anyone know if I don't renew my $10 postpaid plan what happens to my line?

Website say it will default to their "Basic Data Services".

CS tell me the line will be suspended and also cannot port out.

So which is which? Any help is appreciated.

I read SIMBA does not allow plan downgrading. I change to the Super Roam plan as I’m travelling for the next two months and the extra roaming data will come in handy. The only way to “downgrade” is port out to another telco and port in again to their $10 plan if I plan to stay with SIMBA. That’s the only way right?

yup, that's the only way to switch to a lower tier plan. There are many options out there though.

Actually if you are travelling for next 2 months, why not get a ICC SIM/esim instead. Will have more data and unlimited data options.

Yes, only way. Similar to how other telcos work, though they might allow but with fees but not for SIMBA.

I tried using eSIMs bought from Shopee/Lazada for my previous trips. Had bad experience for data speed, end up getting data SIM from their local telco and was using SIMBA free roaming as a stop gap measure which surprising give good data speed. So for the trips this time round I upgraded the plan.

Is it still a requirement to turn on the SIMBA SIM card at least 1 day before going overseas?

How can I be roam ready?
11 days ago Updated
IMPORTANT

All our SIMBA SIMs are roam-ready. However, for you to enjoy a seamless Roaming experience with the latest Roaming profile, it is advisable for you to put your SIMBA SIM into your mobile device and connect to SIMBA’s Singapore network at least 48 hours before travelling.

To check if your SIM is updated with latest roaming profile and ready to roam, simply SMS 3 to 1218. This step must be done before leaving Singapore.

Do ensure that device settings are done as follow:

Data settings: Turn on Data Roaming
Network selection: Set to Automatic (To detect network manually, refer to list of SIMBA's local partner network.
APN settings: Key in TPG to Name and APN

Today in JB Roaming with CELCOM was very bad...got signal bars but not showing 4G+, only shows E...don't know what's that.

On/Off Roaming, Data didn't help
Today no issues with Roaming in JB.

Noticed previously was "CELCOM", now is "MY CELCOM".

Because those are all reselling HK universal roaming sims, lowest of the lowest priority on roaming networks.
