My data roaming is working again.

Didn't do anything after taking the sim card out from the phone the day before and then inserting it back into the phone this morning.

Kudos to those who don't mind spending their money on stuff that don't work sometimes and can tolerate bad to no service. The world is a much better place because of you guys!

Sad that this forum no longer have community support but mostly people who are looking at cheap deals and supporting the merchant just because they are not having any issue...
Agree. Asking users to suck thumbs if things aren’t working when we have paid for it.

simba is for people who finds value for the amount of money paid.

there are people who expect the sky of out this. and now i am implying that such person is cheap

more so when he expect all replies must be a solution to his problem when he did not pay for anything, this is cheap + cheap
Not saying that you are implying me in your post.

But read thru my posts again, and point out if I was asking for a solution to my problem. All I asked for is VPN settings if anyone has it.

I have been disconnected from data roaming on and off quite a number of times and I have obviously tried all methods that I could.

For context, I was out, in the car, on the road and I was tethering off my husband's network. We were going to be separated for a while while he's getting something done. The plan was he gets his work done and I will be walking around the area cos I rarely get to go to the city. Ended up I had to follow him cos I had no data connection. Defeats the entire purpose of going into the city with him.

And that's why I needed the VPN settings 'urgently', not a matter of life and death.

And for context again, I rely very heavily on Simba data roaming. I'm only in Singapore for a week every 2 months. So I know how good or bad or reliable the data roaming network is. I didn't even b!tch about the 'lousy' network and service.

And I say again, all I asked, was for someone to kindly share the VPN settings, not for anyone to tell me what other solutions there are.

When overseas, I thought roaming is dependent on the service provider there?
Simba can’t do anything while we are roaming. Depends on the stability of that roaming partners and ensure our apn are set correctly..
Correct me if I’m wrong.

On why people is having data roaming issues on their phones, here's what I complied and what may happen:

Normally, there shouldn't be an issue. Also please be mindful when you are roaming, you are NOT USING SIMBA network. So if you go to a place with weak network and no data, please do not blame Simba. Blame the local Telco. We live in a highly urbanised country, we expect everything 100% covered. People overseas don't expect 100% coverage. Please la, if you are in area less populated or far flung, expect connection to be weak or slow. I have roamed in many European and Asian countries with Simba, no issues or whatsoever. I've also experienced weak connection while in Europe. Just move to a location with better connection lor.

So back to topic what might have happened based on experience and what people might have shared

1. Account not enough money. If you have used up the free allocated data and $0 in your wallet balance, you WILL NOT be able to continue use your data. Please top-up!

2. Phone settings. For those using Android, please turn on your data roaming and turn on mobile data. Many might have accidentally turn off mobile data.

3. Please also check your mobile data usage limit and remove any usage limits. This had happened to people here who shared before. After removing the data limit, it was resolved and the phone cut mobile data after hitting the limit. Some phones have separate overseas roaming data limit. Please just turn it off.

4. For iPhones, same thing, turn on data roaming and remove any usage limits. Please also turn off sync when overseas as iPhone always constantly sync and eats your data. When your wallet balance is $0, once after your free data is used up, you cannot use data anymore.

5. Locally, there were issues with people facing app slow loading times, resolution is to reset the APN. Please delete your APN and reset it up. APN should be TPG. Restart phone. If your phone is using physical SIM, please just remove it and re-insert.

5. Do a manual scan of network and connect to the network operators. Try anyone, if cannot connect means connect, chose until you can connect to one. Or refer to Simba website of their roaming partner.

Please feel free to add on more. And please, stop blaming Simba for all these issues. Most issues are due to user and phone issues. If anymore issues, just go to their service centre and replace SIM Card please

Thanks

U missed out the most impt one. That is to keep your line/phone in a few days before your trip.
I kanna this on my spare sim last time. Reached oversea and pop in the Simba SIM card and totally no network, and this is also confirm Simba cannot help one cos the line was not consider “active” to Simba

Sat 4pm: collect simcard at auth dealer
sat 11pm: old line lost connection. Pop in Simba card also no connection.
sun 8am: receive email that porting is completed. Restart phone and Simba is working.

Next test is overseas roaming.

Anyone encountered such issue:
Got a new line from SIMBA and then try to call the new line with another telco but unable to call.
- Out to fix line: Ok
- Out to GIGA mobile: OK
- In from fix line: OK
- In from GIGA mobile: Not ok
I have another phone line, from GIGA, but unable to call the newly subscribed line.

Popped in SIMBA SIM Card and there is no VoLTE function.
Popped in GOMO SIM Card, and there is a VoLTE function.

Try deleting the APN reboot and add it back again? APN name is TPG

My Uncle 7 plus was also having issues. So, he used the Simba voice.
Recently, he just changed to iPhone 15 Pro, no issue already. I suspect might be phone not supported.
7 Plus is listed as supported.

Use SIMBA voice as workaround, older phones got this issue.
Faced it before on 8+ even though stated supported, so bobian, use SIMBA voice.
