Anyway to find out if this $10 plan can call out and received calls from all Telco? Can receive otp anot?

TPG users can now call through 6 series fixed line numbers that were formerly ported from Singtel this week.

Numbers like 1627(M1), 1688(Singtel) and 1900 cannot be dialled.

The last thing to note is TPG is using 4G only telco. It means the network cannot fall back on 3G when 4G is unavailable.

If you work under the sun and want to go for cheaper options, TPG is good for you. Otherwise, use the main 3 telco. MVNO will also be a cheaper option if u don't use as much data.

If you can wait for the improvement of mrt and underground signal.
Then it is worth it

TPG impressed me today. I used up my daily quota for several video meetings and went into throttle mode. Nonetheless, I can still use it to surf Internet and check my office emails. Since this Covid is likely to last for another year and I'm on the move, I might take up the $10 / 50 GB offer when my current free TPG SIM card expires :)

Use more than 50GB is chargeable.

I just went to the website to verify and indeed there is $1/GB excess data after 50 GB.

Based on my video meeting schedule, it is very unlikely that I will exceed 50 GB as it means I will need to hit around 6 hours of meeting every day (about 2 GB).

I actually prefer TPG to keep everything same for the trial users and charge $10 per month.

2GB/day plus throttled speed but unlimited data subsequently. this will suit most people i guess. 2GB/day gives one 60GB a month already on average. plus the throttled speed, one can use about 5GB/day the max which is about 150GB/month.

$10 for 50 GB is already a very good deal. If I have not signed up for Grid Mobile $24.90 for 40 GB I would sign up for this immediately.

My guess is next year when TPG's network is more robust and widely implemented, it will raise to $20 at least.

SingTel, Starhub and M1 should have recouped most of their 4G infrastructure cost by now and that's why we are having very good deals.

Tracking my historical subscription plan:

Up to 2013, SingTel for about $40/2 GB (usually exceeded and pay about $50)
2015, Circle.Life for about $30/5 GB
2017, Starhub for about $25/6 GB and unlimited weekend (dropped to $20 for 1 year around 2019)
2019, add on TPG free 2 GB per day unlimited throttle thereafter
2020, Grid Mobile $25 for 40 GB, continue with TPG for $10/50GB (necessitate by Covid?)

Will tpg survive with so many mvno.

Tpg will need to price match mvno since they are new.

The bare minimum to survive is $15 without any freebies.

6m population with 150% penetration rate.

Assuming TPG can capture 10% of the market, with Singtel 30%, SH 20%, M1 15% and the rest 25% shared among MVNO.

9m lines with 10% is 720k. Assuming $20/line on average revenue, $14.4m per month and $172.8m per year. This is what TPG would need according to analysis that they will need $120-130m per year revenue to break even.

Assuming full market launch.

$8 tier - 10GB
$15 tier - 25GB
$25 tier - 50GB
$50 tier - Unlimited for first 150GB and boundless after that

$8 tier - $8 x 400k subscribers = $3.2m
$15 tier - $15 x 200k subscribers = $3m
$25 tier - $25 x 100k subscribers = $2.5m
$50 tier - $50 x 50k subscribers = $2.5m

$11.2m per month, or $134.4m

If we boast the numbers of $15 tier to 400k to mass capture market, a $3m boast to revenue per month and we can get nearer to the $14.4m monthly target.

Price is 1 part of the game.

Coverage is the main thing. Still must wait until MRT coverage is up than can fight with mvno.

We haven’t seen a regular $15/25GB plan, with the exception of M1 $15 for 30GB one off promotion.

TPG should be aggressive to come out with this plan $15/25GB when fully launched.

That m1 promotion is one of the greatest deal, I'm on that $15plan for 30GB. Good and bad, you get tied to a 12mth contract.

I want to know how much data did I consumed on average for the last 6-12 months.

you on iOS or Android?

if Android, go to settings > Data Usage > Mobile data usage. there should be current + past 4 months data

I am using Android, Xiaomi phone. I can't find that.

There should be a way for us to see our usage with the provider right?

You can login the TPG portal (website) to check your usage. But is currently only show u the current month. Not sure trial customer usage will appear.
