Finally the M1 Maxx line turned into “Emergency Calls Only”

Now I took out that SIM and put in the Simba SIM … it also shows “Emergency Calls Only” … SIM card details recognises this to be a Simba SIM, but Unknown Number … I’d already set the APN to TPG …

I guess we’ll see later in the morning.
About 1am tomorrow

Yeap, somewhere between 1-2am, saw the “Emergency Calls Only” replaced with SIMBA and went to bed :o

Not a positive experience for this porting :frown: While the blame should go to M1 for that inactive thing on 1st of the month, Simba should have informed of the failed 1st port attempt instead of wait until 7th then reveal after reaching out to them on the 6th.

Anyone experienced exceeding data in SIMBA before. What is the penalty like or what should I do if I exceeded the data in simba.

What's your plan?
Excess Local Data @ $4/GB for Prepaid & Senior.
Excess Local Data @ $1/GB for the rest of the plans according to CIS,
not sure if updated.

Been with Simba for close to 6 months, very happy with it. This is not a complaint but I am curious, anyone know why the 5G speed for Simba is so slow? I was at a spot where both mine and friend has 5G network locked on, both full bars, he is with Zero1, his speed is about 10x faster via Speedtest website.

Practically it has no impact on my usage on the phone since everything works (payment, streaming, normal browsing, telegram, etc). Just wondering why. I vaguely remember Simba wasn't allocated enough signal bands (?)

hows the coverage?

is it when on call, there will be no internet connection?
This only happens last time when the phone/telco drop back to 3G for voice calls.
Nowadays, all are using VoLTE which uses data to call so no such problem.
Simba never had 3G so they didn't have this issue in the first place.

Nope, from my knowledge all activation have to be in SG due to IMDA regulation.
Correct me if I am wrong please.
I activated eight esim a few days before flying back to SG, was able to perform data roaming in 2 different countries. So I guess that activating in SG is not an absolute requirement.

Of course that does not mean it will work in all cases.

Nice, so we have 1 data point that activation can be overseas.

For places that I visited and frequented, no problems. IMO, very hard for non-subscriber to know if Simba is suitable for them or not. Why not just get it for a month and see how it goes. Not hard to switch out if found unsuitable.

I am using Simba now roaming in Malaysia . The 200 GB SG-MY data. Just on roaming in SG just need 10s and lesser done..
