Just wondering how is the SIMBA roaming in JB of late?

It was kinda lag when I was there months ago

Was there last week. Celcom is the preferred network, but can be slow at times. High Ping and latency. If manual select to umobile, very fast speed and low ping low latency. But umobile got some blind spots where you'll have no network sometimes.

Some suggested to switch to 5G to avoid the lag, would it work?

All the time when I'm across I'm on Celcom - it suits my usage within & outside Malls.

My phone auto switch between 4G & 5G... not all locations are 5G ready.

I'm on auto 5g/lte all the time.. Doesn't matter what G. Lol.. I think either roaming users are lower priority or the network is just simply too conjested, like our customs

I just leave mine on Auto 5G and with Data Roaming 24/7. Seamless.

...mine too except my Roaming I don't set selection as Auto. However it still selects Celcom & when I return to SG, SIMBA - maybe a bug in my phone

Just signed up for SIMBA and porting my number over but accidentally chose pick up. Can I switch to esim or no choice have to go down and pick up?

Can you find an option to switch (I've not tried that before), otherwise might want to contact them (call, FB PM, etc) ASAP to request...

And if have to go pick up, hopefully they won't make you pay $5 when you ask for eSIM instead.

I think the 8 ($11.80 plan) is also a great alternatives.


the keypoint.. the oversea roaming partners of Simba or Eight are with local established company.

Just like if a foreigner local telco has tied up with Singtel .. he will have great coverage when he is in Sgp..
but if that local telco has tied up with Simba instead... he will definitely be complaining day and night when he is here.

Simba and Eight speed still slow in Singapore but it worth it if use overseas roaming data with $12 and get 7GB or $11.80 8GB.
You can't get this roaming data rate with other telco eg Singtel Starhub

Anyone have probelsm making outgoing calls on Simba. I try to call out, always no signal no nothing. I switch to the other sim card on my phone which is singtel is ok. Once reboot the phone, then will work.

Simba upgraded the benefits to it's $12 plan


The $12 plan now includes 18GB APAC roaming to include China and South Korea

and inclusion of 500GB shared roaming to Thailand
