Meh-rish Eight signal coupled with what looks like their repeated attempts to tie down us users, I'm glad Simba works better for me lately. Don't need to think too much now.
Eight users under Starhub is Economy class, Giga users are Premium economy and Starhub users are Business class.

Simba has no diffentiation. All users are Business class, although depending on location if usage.

Well, some would argue (based on this survey data for example) the whole SIMBA network is economy class.🤷

FWIW I've had good results with both Eight and SIMBA. I think they both do a pretty good job.

hahahaha yes the CNY promo was really the best. I guess they ran out of money giving away all the angbaos.

Good things can't last forever. Unrealistic to expect that better and better deals will come.
ohh correction, CNY wasn’t the best but the start of things to come when they gave $10 credit for $28 top-up (even this deal is better than any recent promo)..

The March tech show promo was the champion with 1 for 1 ($28 top-up, free $28 credits). Nothing else come close since then 😅😅

simba is a full telco, not a fly by night mvno. according to their latest financial statements, they r doing pretty well, so i believe they will live as long as the other 3 telcos, haha.
Exactly.

Too much comparisons until many are forgetting one's an MNO and the other an MVNO. :s13:

Simba should compare with the other 3 telcos mah... haha.
I tried Starhub many years back, 3 chances with 3 new lines on and off, already gave up back then and not bothering to get my balance credit back.

ST... sucks the past couple of years, until I gave up. And then that ai surely... until my sibling told me to just cancel the parent's line 🤦‍♂️ perhaps coz her whole family already left sinktel...

M1 with its good connection for me from Day 1... Maxx helps me cut cost, so I'm good there.

“It’s complicated.”

StarHub owns and operates subbrands Giga! and Eight. Singtel owns and operates subbrands GOMO and Heya. StarHub is a MNO, but in fact its 5G network is a joint venture with M1. Singapore only has 3 physical 5G networks: Singtel, the StarHub-M1 joint venture, and SIMBA. StarHub and M1 continue to operate separate 4G networks.

But it doesn’t matter to consumers whether a service is technically a MNO or MVNO. (To regulators for example it can matter.) The service is what matters to consumers. If the service delivers value for money, great!

Usual naysayers always have to come out of their hole to burst other peoples' bubble with their "enjoy while it last" nonsense. These are the same people back during the top 20 get 20 bonus promo who were making comments like "why lock yourself in to one particular telco" or "why topup so much you not scared the company run road meh?". But they don't have the braincells to differentiate between full fledge licensed telco vs higher risked MVNOs.

Without market disrupters like Simba we probably would still be living in dark ages of traffic light telcos charging $30-40 per month for 1gb data, 200mins talk time and additional $3 just for caller id. Everybody is now enjoying the benefits of proper competition from the various telcos fighting for the consumer's wallet so i don't know why there are still folks being such a sour puss about it.

Enjoy while it lasts lo.. who knows Simba will still be here or not 4-5 years later ..
In the unlikely event any mobile network operator winds down it’ll have a customer base, and that customer base will have value to a surviving, acquiring operator. We also have mobile number portability in Singapore, so you’ll be able to choose another carrier if you don’t like the default acquirer.
