Well, it is for 3 months, not 1 month gimmick.

At least they tried for existing users. No issues and I am happy to take up the additional 50GB.

Good to give extra double data for the plans you have subscribed. But it's also might be a trapp.

For 3 months, they try to bring you to use close to 100Gb. When it reverts back to 50Gb, you might exceed your data based on your new surfing habits or upgrade your plans. 😅

You can't upgrade your plans.

maybe they will intro add-on soon. You might not get to use the 100gb but most FW is.

Well, as the saying goes, you can't please everyone.....:(

An arbitrarily pointless gesture when most users will likely gain nothing or not benefit from it. I don't suppose you expect customers to say thank you for the extra 50gb data i will never use when your company is still plagued by plethora of network and payment issues?

Quite surprising to see sweeping statements claiming to represent "Most Users". What doesn't work for some does not mean it doesn't work for others, otherwise, why would people continue to subscribe to 80GB, 100Gb, Unlimited Data Plan and Telcos continue to push the big data plans out?

For subscribers who are not satisfied with services provided by the provider.... why continue to suffer the bad service? Should one not take the business (money) elsewhere to a more deserving provider? TPG has no contract, come and go as one wishes....

End of the day, as the saying goes, you just can't please everyone.... :( and of course it is one's prerogative if one wishes to whinged about something such as a FREE gift... a free gift is a free gift and if one uses it, well jolly good but if one doesn't, hey it didn't cost you a single cent..

As I said, nobody is complaining. If u have facts that most users need more than 50gb, please share. Already most users here agree they do not. Haha...

Checked w TPG Support, as my plan renewal for this Apr started in early Apr, not on/after 10 Apr, I am not eligible for this free extra 50GB eventhough my TPG app updated to 100GB.
My local data remaining remains as per my 50GB plan, 30GB i.e not 80GB (30 + free 50GB).
I will only get free extra 50GB next month, May onwards.
Do check 1st if U may exceed yr data plan.

.... I counted maybe 3-4? But since one clarifies that "Most Users" actually meant "Most Users HERE" then I understand la....

As for "no one's complaining", the phrase "can't please everyone" does not meant those who are not pleased are complaining hence I agreed no one's complaining. So no one should complain that I imply people are complaining.

Anyone here transferred from Giga to TPG recently? Like to know if any significant difference in terms of network coverage and speed.

any idea how to setup the sim??
tried whole morning still not able to connect
keep showing no service
If this is the iPhone 6, it does not support LTE band 40, that TPG needs.

The earliest iPhone to do so would be the 6S or original SE.

For TPG, it runs on LTE bands 8 and 40, 40 being their primary band all over. It won't work phones that are really old since expanded band support came in newer iterations of the chipset - the iPhone 6 is a 2014 phone,

You using iPhone?

For iPhone -- officially TPG only supports iPhone 7 (or higher). See link below for list of TPG supported phones:
https://www.tpgmobile.sg/community/topic/74-tpg-volte-supported-devices/
In theory, if your phone supports either 4G/LTE band 8 or band 40 -- you can connect to the TPG mobile network.

Your phone does not need to support BOTH LTE band 8 & band 40.

Personally, my own experience proved the above to be valid/true.

During the period when TPG was offering FREE trial SIM -- I used an old (Korean version) Samsung Note 4 w/ the TPG SIM.
(Samsung Note 4 is also an old 2014 model phone)

The (Korean) Samsung Note 4 model I used -- only supports LTE band 8 but doesn't support LTE band 40.

Yet on the old Samsung Note 4, I was able to connect to the TPG mobile network & use mobile data + send/receive SMS.

The only time I got no network on the old Samsung Note 4 -- was when I'm in a location where TPG has LTE band 40 coverage but no LTE band 8 coverage -- which is not often.

***
The most effective thing you can do now -- is to just put your TPG SIM card into another (more recent/newer) phone to do a quick test.

If using another newer phone -- also shows no service (or no network) -- there may be something wrong w/ the TPG SIM card itself; and nothing to do with the phone you use.

If your TPG SIM card works well when tested in another (newer) phone -- then you worry about making settings adjustments on your current phone to use the (CONFIRMED working) TPG SIM card.
