No number to call to ask about the extra billing. Email replies took them ages. If I get charged another $10 again before the start of next month, I will go cancel this debit card or empty my bank account and return to prepaid card.

BANK will charge you if your account is empty. may be more than $10 :)

After ploughing through the messages here and other message boards, I followed one of the advice I saw earlier. I went down to their only branch in Singapore (181 Orchard Rd, #04-28 Orchard Central, Singapore 238896) to cancel my line and refund the duplicate deductions. The whole process took 20 minutes.

The cancellation was immediate and I got the two emails confirming the cancellation. The first email is to let you know that TPG received the request to cancel the line and the second email to confirm the line has been cancelled.

I am not putting much hope on the refund of $20. The counter mentioned that the refund will be done in 21 days and the $20 will be credited back to my card.

TPG has served me well in the last year such that I continue with the telecom after the free trial. However, the risks of further deductions and the lack of explanation about the duplicate reductions mean that it is no longer feasible to continue with TPG. There is no number to call TPG and emails are left unanswered for weeks. Even the staff at Orchard are unsure what is happening as TPG only told them it is a system issue.

Tpg may be under staffs and financial not capable to manage the business in Singapore.
In fact they may be regretting biding for the 4th mobile license.
Singapore so small a country and the other isp mostly own by government glc with deep pocket finance.
How Tpg going to compete???

Unless ur credit card is already cancelled. If not even if ur card is expired but the credit card still remain the same, they can still charge you. Since the card has been authorised for this purpose before.

TPG cannot charge expired card. This is confirmed.

IMHO.
While the current issues regarding billing and credit cards can be explained, for TPG, it will likely take them many weeks if not months !

Just think back at the issues since they started the trial. If the team don't work, change !

IMHO, the will be able to compete if they have a good team who can solve issues ASAP by not letting them go out of hand.

The current issue relating to billing/creditcard has become common. The longer it last, customers will find their own creative way of solving it themselves. By emailing support, the support staff suddenly become "under staff".

Not sure, I did email TPG for clarifications but up till now there is no response. Been a few days, so I am guessing they are overwhelmed with complaints or etc.

Anyway I called the bank and they said can cancel the card and reissue a new one for me.

For my case is multiple deductions and also refunds

Wait 3 weeks from email date

IMHO.

Maybe is like that.

For example, I have
No of trial subscribers - 100,000
No of subscribers - 20,000

If people ask me how many subscribers I have, I will say 120,000.
I know it is unlikely people will ask me specifically a question which I have to answer 20,000

Then i will seek legal advise, if those trial subscribers becomes actual subscribers, will I be able to bill them for the period between a trial subscriber and subscriber. :D

They will have no rights to bill, since there is no onus for the trial user to remove the sim card from the phone. The onus is for TPG to cut service to the sim card. :o

I ask them specifically. I am not sure for those who don't ask.

I have to remember this is TPG, anything is possible. My transactions with them is that, they can don't bill me via invoice and deduct from credit card and issue receipt. Not sure if the invoice is already in, the last time I checked, it wasn't.

IMDA just point to TPG to settle the problem. I think is their SOP.

I not scared of them deducting, cos I input the temporary credit card number from Singtel Dash Visa.

Of course if they deducted money it is harder for subscribers to get their money back. That's the way it is.

Hmm... temporary credit card, sounds like a good idea.
I find it a real hassle not knowing what are the deductions are for.

Yup, that was the suggestion given by the other TPG trial users here when the trial just started so I did the same too. :o

Problem is they dont cut. Until today my trial still can be used. However i have stopped using it. Dont want to give them any reason to start billing me :(
