Hello, I am facing issues porting in, have tried emailing and FB Messenger but seems like communication is not their strong suit (Funny as they're a telecommunications company). Anyway...

Basically, I collected my SIM on Saturday but until now I still have not been ported into the SIMBA network.

I've checked with Serangoon "Service Center" but their reply was to check with the current provider Changi Mobile. Of course, checking with Changi Mobile and their reply was that there was nothing I need to do as the port out process is automated ( which tallies with my previous experiences).

The page at "https://registration.simba.sg:8443/activations" doesn't seem to do anything keeps telling me an invalid serial. CSO at FB Messenger tells me my SIM is not collected yet which does not make sense.

Feeling quite lost already

Hi guys, I am looking at this simba plan SIMBA SuperRoam. Does anyone use this plan? It says 10 GB for 57 GB destinations, so does it means I can use the full 10 Gb in one place and been renew by a new billing month? Appreciate your help to explain on this
My sis is on that plan.
10GB for Tier A (57 Countries) Roaming.

$25
Every 30 days.
100GB Local Data
10GB Roaming Data

If you feel you use less data.
$25 - $10 = $15
$15 / $4 = 3.75GB

1GB Free from $10 plan
And pay $12 for 3GB.
You pay $22 for 4GB Data Roaming.

Unless you're using more than 4GB Roaming per month, it's cheaper to just add-on data for roaming when needed.

If 2 month go oversea once.
$25 - $10 = $15
$15 x 2 = $30
7GB x $4 = $28
You save $2 and have 8GB for roaming for that trip/month.

I myself just tested and using the MY130 plan. Just passed 3 months ($30) and renewed for next 3 months ($39).

Haven't went to Msia thou. Last minute cancelled. But going over next month CNY period. Hope it's all good.

Will port out and back in for SuperRoam If I'm planning to go elsewhere.
(Or just change to the $10 plan and add-on roaming data when needed)

Only hope China will soon be added in to Tier A group (Currently is Tier B $6/GB). My work might have venture there soon. Need to have stable roaming data plan there for east access to WA and google services.

CM Link plan for China is also affordable. $10.80 for 12GB (which 6GB usable for roaming in China/HK)
$18.80 for 50GB+70GB (which 25GB usable for roaming in China/HK)

Pay Per Use Roaming, yes as long as you have credit inside the Wallet. The 130GB/10GB Bundle, no.

But then the problem is $4/GB is very expensive for Indonesia roaming. Plus it's on Smartfren, coverage isn't that good imo.

4 dollars per gb is cheaper than singtel. But agreed that Indonesia roaming is bad for smartfren (batam)

They have already met their 4G requirements last year when they finished MRT deployments. IMDA only regulates coverage.

They are also investing in 5G faster than IMDA's requirements. IMDA only specifies 50% coverage by Dec 2024, but SIMBA aims for 60% coverage by Dec 2023 at their current investment level.
Actually, this is good news for SIMBA loyal customers.

Honestly, as long as SIMBA is willing to increase their prices, the working class customers will be willing to pay the higher prices.

SIMBA has a much better customer service than **, and their service standards do not lose to **** ***.

Thanks for providing these figures.

Looks like SIMBA will be remaining in Singapore in the long-term.

To be honest, the South East Asia culture is tend to be interested in short-term interests only. The South East Asia people are mostly only interested in whether the short-term figures look good. They don't really care about the long-term development one.

In my opinion, the 5G pick-up rate not as high as what the industry "experts" estimate. Most people are actually still using 4G, because it is cheap, and somemore,... Most people do not see the need to use the higher quality 5G.

As long as most Singaporeans are still using 4G, and as long as SIMBA continues to offer the free roaming to Johor Bahru, SIMBA will probably continue to enjoy growing subscription numbers.

Otherwise, it's just the previous 3 telcos that monopolized the Singapore telco market.

In the long term, SIMBA should venture beyond offering low-price plans.

As mentioned, I'm actually okay with SIMBA offering plans as expensive as *******. The only condition is that the quality must also be comparable with *******.

Personally recommend that SIMBA should consider offering fringe products like discounted Spotify subscription and their own mobile phone packages (partner with the popular mobile phone brands like Xiaomi, Vivo, Zenfone, etcetera), as the first step, because it is relatively easy to do it.

In the longer term, when SIMBA has a stronger foundation, SIMBA should consider catching up with a typical telco, and offer wi-fi services, telephone services, and even cable television.

Actually, come to think about it, if SIMBA has the foresight, these should already be in their plans.

In conclusion, SIMBA is a telco that has potential.

I would recommend everyone to not be affected by the noises.

As customers, we should just enjoy the mobile service offered by SIMBA can already. Maintain the stability, continue to enjoy the streaming of videos to our heart's content and using the mobile data without worry. :)

Fringe services drive up the cost of the subscription. I pay for data to get data, not 1 month free Spotify and other stuff.

I think 5G has low adoption because people don't see a need for 800Mbps+ speeds. I think the real benefit of 5G is capacity - I can still have a usable connection (20Mbps+) even in crowded areas. For example, I still had a good 5G connection at NDP and F1 when everyone around me couldn't load data on 4G.

one reason you has good 5g connection at ndp/f1 could be due to the low adoption rate :) - i.e. not crowded even at crowded areas

Except that Singtel's announcement back before NDP2022 - where they have successfully met 95% SA coverage - is pushing competitors to accelerate their coverage or risk losing customers, because customers are comparing. Granted it's not a perfect coverage, but the perceived inferiority is real.

Pegging it to regulatory requirements is fair, but disregards actual on-the-ground sentiments and events. As long as the product is deemed to be inferior to existing competition (because of slower rollout, etc), they will be hard pressed to ask for more money from customers because it is relatively seen as "still rolling out", disregarding the improvements made since the trial. And yes, I have been a TPG trial user since nearly day 1.

No one cares about end of 2023 if the competition has 95% islandwide coverage by August 2022, more than 16 months ahead of their 60% target. It actually sends the message they don't seem to care, and are taking their time. Unfortunate considering it was Singtel that rushed deployment instead, so they have the competitive advantage.

People on SIMBA most definitely aren't SingTel's target audience. Maybe M1 and the MVNOs only.
