Hey.
I'm with Simba and I'm having issues entering my number into apps like Lazada and Chope. It comes up with invalid number so I can't get OTP. Ironically, otp worked when registering for this forum so I'm confused at what is happening. Lazada couldn't help and I spoke to Simba in Bugis and they said they use recycled numbers and mine is an old number and that I should go to Orchard to ask for a new numebr. I then spoke to Simba online and they said this is incorrect but they couldn't provide a solution. It's very frustrating as I just need a cheap Sim and Simba seem to be the most cheapest.
Does anyone have a solution for this or having the same experience? It's happening to my wife too.

Does your number start with 89XX or 80XX?

If yes, that explains why.

Regardless of carrier, it seems like many online platforms use whitelist approach. Therefore for newer number series like 89XX or 80XX, it is not being allowed and therefore throws errors.

There is nothing that you can do other than get an 88XX number from TPG/SIMBA (which is likely to be recycled), or some other numbers from incumbents and port them into TPG/SIMBA. No guarantees it is a brand new number, but if you somehow see a lot of the same series numbers available by the carrier, it is more likely to be new.

Porting in was what I did for my SIMBA Plan and I couldn't be happier.
Pay a bit more upfront for convenience.

Giga had some really nice numbers at one point. I got 888* **** as a temp number & i ended up cancelling the port-in request because the number so nice lol.

If you want a good selection & to choose a particular sequence, M1 Maxx is a good one. When signing up, can tell them what number sequence you would like in your mobile number & they will try to get it for you.

I am considering to upgrade from the $10 100gb plan to 130gb with 10gb Malaysia roaming plan. However I was advised by the customer service that the only way to do this is to port out to other telco then port back in again.

Is there a better way to do this? This sounds ridiculous.
For those on 100GB $10 plan, you guys can only can change to SuperRoam 100GB, and as for changing to MYR130, gotta wait lol… :D

For iPhone Users:

Do you realize youwil only be able to receive calls/smses if you turn on VoLTE? I used to think it's not a persistent issue until recently.

Moreover, turning on VoLTE drains battery more.

Anyone having the same issue? :s11:

Tested on iPhone 14 Plus, 13 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max.

Any phones that use the simba sim card has to have volte turned on, else has to use the simba voice app. whether volte drains battery is subjective.

Most phones use 3G by default to do calls, unfortunately SIMBA has no 3G network. Therefore without VoLTE(which routes your call over 4G), your calls will fail to connect entirely. This is 100% expected.

Like the others reply.

simba don't not have 3G network therefore all calls has to out via 4G (which is VoLTE).

I personally don't face drain issue with VoLTE enable on my iOS device.

I think your battery issue maybe due to simba lack of base station therefore your phone require more power to reach a far away base station.

SMS isn't affected, works with or without VoLTE on.

SMS certainly doesn't work with wifi. It's not WhatsApp you know, you need a network connection although data doesn't need to be on.
Bro for my case, SMS dont come in / go out at all if i dont turn on VoLTE lol!

I just tested it on my iPhone, VoLTE off and sms still gets sent out. In fact I even turned off data, smses still being received by an Android device.
