Now we have some “6” and “3” prefix using VOIP. I am thinking how do we know if it is really fixed line or using VOIP? U can have a “6” and “3” series ringing on your mobile phone and this consider fixed line or mobile line?
Doesn't matter what the prefix is.

IMDA has defined mobile numbers to be leading with 8 or 9 in the National Numbering Plan. Everything else will be billed. So if you call via a 3 series VoIP number, even if it's a mobile app on the phone, it's still not calling a mobile number. Just call the person directly on their mobile number or use an app if you don't mind the inferior call quality.

If someone is having m1 prepaid want to port to simba senior plan, understand that only post paid can do so. Currently thought of port to changi mobile then to simba senior plan. Is there any better way of doing so?

Add "tpg" to Hotspot settings.

Can port in using postpaid number.

Honestly I would rather you go to M1 Shop, ask them to upgrade the line to M1 Postpaid, use for 1 month, then port out.

If need to pay the $35 SIM Card + $10 Registration Charge (before GST) excluding subscription, then maybe port to StarHub Prepaid then up port to StarHub Postpaid thereafter. Will likely be cheaper.

Changi Mobile is just full of problems, not sure if it's worth saving the money and get frustrated.

Why you give StarHub and M1 as example but never give the best option of them all? Singtel prepaid -> Gomo, zero sim card and registration fees. Port out after 1 month. Only available at official Singtel shops.

I am considering to upgrade from the $10 100gb plan to 130gb with 10gb Malaysia roaming plan. However I was advised by the customer service that the only way to do this is to port out to other telco then port back in again.

Is there a better way to do this? This sounds ridiculous.

tpg dun have a direct upgrade or downgrade path... they probably need to improve this quickly.

StarHub also don't charge for SIM Card and Registration Fees.
Also, the SingTel Postpaid / GOMO porting is very confusing, some people get charged for staying for too short or too long.

At least with StarHub Postpaid, it's clear-cut. U pay what you paid for.

They do have an upgrade path.
But it must be the 30 days billing plan.

Afaik, the reason for this is due to the 30 days vs 90 days billing.

You won't want their system to screw up and charge you $39 every 30 days right?
They probably don't wish customers to come back and ask for this claim too, so they just block outright.

Yes! You have to wait for SIMBA's SMS telling you that your number has been ported-in from StarHub before you can activate the SIMBA sim card!

I received my Simba sim card today in mail. Tried activating it but keeps getting this error below... Does that mean I have to wait for the sms from Simba saying it has successfully ported the number in from Singtel first?

Did you receive any email from SIMBA informing you that the port in request has been submitted?
I ported in 2 lines to SIMBA, both showed me that unsuccessful page for a few seconds before redirecting to a successful page. I think it's a bug, unless you really made a mistake and used the wrong singpass during sign up or activation.

Since I could not proceed with activation, I do not receive any email saying port in has been submitted.

Only after I called their hotline, they did the activation for me and I received that email after. It said activation takes up to 2 days.

Now I'm still seeing Singtel line being active...
