Yes. The traffic light actually don't earn much from base subscription.
All telcos need to improve their ARPU. If the average ARPU don't increase, its not profitable. Simba now is around $9.37 per customer as compared to last year $9.19.
Telcos increases its ARPU by all its add-ons like VAS all these. That's where singtel dominates. They have the most VAS, the charge customers these add-ons as part of the plan.
One of the most Cash Cow VAS is caller-ID of $5/mth which they (traffic light) WILL not remove. Just do your calculations how much they earn from caller ID. Just go search how many sub they have times* $5/mth.
Simba just announced their financial results for the fiscal year 2023 this morning.
Can read more here
SIMBA Telecom’s Impressive Results: Growing Subscriber Base and ARPU, Fiber Broadband Launch in North East Corridor, October 2023
They have 819k subscribers now

not bad wor 9.37
i would have imagine they had many who just sub the senior plan and bring it down a lot

It will further increase next year as they roll out their 5G. And people start travelling.

Simba is smart, give 1Gb roaming. Then excess charge is only $4/GB, and its pay per use basis instead of 1-block of 1GB.

So people would travel more after covid, and will use more data overseas. Since its fair as they charge in blocks of 10MB, people would use it more often.

That's how simba start earning. 🤑🤑 maybe they will launch VASes soon

• More than 35% of user base has 5G devices.
• On target to exceed 60% outdoor coverage by end 2023.

Redmi can't use SIMBA 5G bands

Ip11, I don't think it supports 5G. Too old the devices.

Get a Samsung midrange A series phones. They supports SIMBA 5G bands.

Okies, i made it work by setting NR Only from *#*#4636#*#*. ( from the post)

https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/xiaomi-mi-11-5g-nr-sa-mode.4397787/

Try this

Also this, to reveal the SA option

https://en.ocworkbench.com/how-to-enable-5g-sa-option-on-xiaomi-redmi-poco-5g-phones/
Key the code for the SA option and disable SA
You don't need key in the code anymore.. if the network is on 5G and the menu will auto show up.

If the network is under 4G and won't show up no matter how you key in the code.

Sadly

Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G totally cannot work on SImba 5G no matter what you do... disable SA also same..

Once I put in an M1 SIM card and immediately get 5G.

I will just give up the 5G and stay with 4G :(

Simba/TPG not that old, I think all their SIM cards should support 5G NSA.

Try inserting your SIM card into one of those supported phone for around 1 day and it should be provisioned with 5G.

That is what I did with my 2 kids SIM card previously.
