I collected my SIMBA SIM card on 2 Oct, and port in from M1 was successfully done by 3 Oct. Incoming and outgoing calls, SMS and data works from my ported number. However, till date, I have not received any email confirming my port in was successful. On SIMBA's desktop portal, my plan is also showing 'Pending Activation'.

I have reached out to SIMBA Support numerous times regarding this to no avail. Is this a common issue? What is the longest period of time you've experienced for your SIM card to be successfully activated? What do I do now?

I just want to manage my number on SIMBA App, and not lose it. Thanks!
Issue was resolved after 1 week. I was not notified of the reason for the delay. I figured out why: during online signup, I added a preferred name. My full legal name and preferred name was swapped on SIMBA's backend. After making the necessary amendments, my line was activated a day after.

I also have been facing issues with SIMBA network in office, including colleagues who are also using SIMBA (Bugis area) and at home (east side). Office is quite bad, complete dead zone and one side of the building and weak signal at ground level.

I emailed them to feedback, will continue monitor for another month or so. Otherwise I’ll just move to another
If i'm facing this, i'll just port out if simba doesn't work for me in office. If you are going to stay in office the whole day, best to port out. there are other $10/mth choices out there.

Guys, if I understand correctly, I can do the following to siam the IDD call charges?

Let's say I going Europe.
Before leaving SG, I divert all my SingTel call to Simba.
When I arrive oversea, and if somecall call my SingTel, his call will be diverted to Simba and this is FREE.

Is that correct?

all incoming call when overseas are free for all telco.
it is the outgoing call that is not free.
Simba calling from overseas to singapore number (+65) is free. If call to mobile is totally free without using the call time. Calling landline will utilise the Free call time (eg 100min free call). all call from overseas to singapore need +65

So you no need to do the call divert unless u choose to remove the singtel Sim card when overseas.
U can simple set data and call to simba sim. u still can receive your Singtel call (singtel sim card inside the phone). Just that when u call out, you will use simba sim instead.

Diversion is call forwarding. Yr Singtel line becomes an IDD call.

Call forwarding mean Singtel calling Simba?
Still free since Simba is local number (+65)?
Not considered IDD? Unless Divert to overseas sim card/line?

Out of SG, people calling Yr Singtel is a roaming call already. Roaming call is as charged by Singtel already. So you already paying for roaming call. Doesn't matter if you forward to something that is free.

Follow my steps. This is what I usually do.

- Set call forwarding when out of coverage for your Singtel line to SIMBA number.
DONE and that's it! U can leave it permanently there because when u turn back ON your Singtel Line, the call forwarding will not work.

When u leaving SG, just turn OFF your singtel line and all calls will be auto forward to SIMBA without IDD charges. I had done this almost every week.

Wow nice. So this works like Singtel (local) calling Simba (local)?

Oh just realised incoming call when overseas is not free. Only incoming sms is free...

Once u turn off your line in sg, the last active location will be in sg. So, it’s local to local calls. Then on your SingTel app, u can turn off roaming for your SingTel line using the app. I always go JB almost every weeks and I received many calls. My SingTel bills doesn’t incurred any roaming data or calls.

PS: do not gay kiang go and turn on your SingTel line while in overseas.

Can we set the SIMBA Voice app as the default for receiving / making calls, especially while in overseas so that both directions are not IDD chargeable? (Between overseas and SG calls).

I'm using Andoird.

VoLTE = Voice over LTE. It's voice over data.

That's why Roaming data is given, but not calls. Calls are placed over data (cos over the app).
You don't need data to call, even if you off data. You still can make a call. As long as the carrier support VoLTE, the call will work even there's no data .

You don't have to do that. Native calling with +65 and voLTE on is good enough. No need voice app.

Try calling my parent on their mobile. Can tell till song song. Didn't even deduct the free call quota

IMHO.
The discussion is not about VoLTE is voice over data. Per your post below, it is whether if no data roaming, can one still make calls.

I illustrate an example.
My mobile setting to
Call - Simba
SMS - Zym
Data - Zym

I made a call to my SIngtel number and it shows my Simba number.

"I suppose the worst time to find out your data roaming is not working is when you are escaping from a lion chasing you and you have no data to call for help..."

The confusing could be VoIP where Volce is transmitted over data. VoLTE can be implemented differently.

I have read online that calls to emergency number can be made even without SIM card. Never experience before and unlikely to try to call 999.
