On another note, for people who have wallet balances on their SIMBA line and want to port out:
  • Once you port-out your SIMBA number to a different provider, any remaining wallet balance will be forfeited
  • The wallet balance cannot be transferred to another SIMBA account, and no refunds will be issued for forfeited wallet balances
  • If you plan to port-out, use any remaining wallet balance first before doing so
  • If you port your number back to SIMBA, any remaining wallet balance prior to initial port-out will also not be reinstated
Answer above from SIMBA customer service but edited for brevity

Thanks! I just read the critical information summary:

Unsuccessful payment for plan renewal will result in a reversion to a Basic Plan which includes only Basic Data Services (192Kbps), incoming calls and SMS. This means that you will not be able to enjoy full speed data, make any outgoing calls nor send SMS. This Basic Plan will continue for 21 days unless the Main Plan is renewed successful

This means after 30 days, the plan becomes Basic plan which is a line in service and I should be able to port out without incurring the 2nd month fee?
You can port out after 30 days without penalty, as your line is still active for the next 21 days with Basic Plan if payment/renewal is unsuccessful. This is also my understanding.

Did you signup online with your credit card? If so, make sure you disabled/locked your CC earlier, because the system will try on the 26th day, in the early morning to auto deduct from your CC or wallet. If upon unsuccessful deduction, the system will send you an unsuccessful SMS, follow by a reminder SMS on the same day, that you will be on Basic Plan from XX date. You can then port out on or after XX date.

I think you have to keep your CC disabled/locked until you successfully port out.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, really appreciate it. I signed up with a retail shop in Taman Jurong, so I guess they don't have my CC details. It is probably if I made the 1st topup they will have my CC details on their file.

Oh yes, I forgot to say, I am not sure if you will be able to port out while on the Basic Plan, as I have not done so before. I assume this is feasible.

To be sure, you may want to confirm with CS.

I went to sign up for a $8 business plan with number porting from my Circle.Life line and I paid $8 during the online registration. My business is still live but the ACRA profile I uploaded online is not within 3 months period.

When I visited the counter physically, they were strict about the ACRA 3 months validity so I was advised to buy my ACRA profile via bizfile at $5.50 again. Unfortunately, the ACRA system is under maintenance that day and I could not buy my latest ACRA profile.

Beside ACRA being the problem, the staff also told me I cannot port my Circle.Life PERSONAL line to SIMBA BUSINESS plan because PERSONAL and BUSINESS are different. Porting must be business to business OR personal to personal.

Outcome: I had to forfeit my $8 for my business plan sign-up. I paid $10 to port my personal line porting to SIMBA 100GB/$10 per month plan. Their system is not flexible to allow me to add another $2 to sign up for personal line instead :(

For those who wishes to sign up for SIMBA Business plan, you got to take note.

I ported from Starhub to SIMBA MAX Roam. Did the application online and went down the Kaki Bukit on Sunday (thinking there will be no line since its industrial area on a Sunday).....had 2 ahead of me..doh!

Verified the docs, got the SIM card and i popped it into the 2nd sim slot. On Monday around midnight, my Starhub SIM went dead...this morning, woke up to the phone running on the SIMBA sim.

All in all..straight forward port. As many had suggested..best to pickup SIM directly at a service centre so that everything is done properly.
