When will they send the bonus top up? Is it immediate? I tried it with a shopee store but I do not see the bonus amount

Applied to do port in yesterday (Saturday) at around 3 pm. Very pleased with the service from a young man at Thomson Plaza outlet. By 11:30 pm, the original line was terminated, by 1:15 am this morning, the switch was completed.

Very efficient considering it is a weekend!! I will now go top up some money in the wallet to get the bonus. Will go back to the same outlet to give them some business since I got good service.

Thanks for sharing good outlet experience. Will definitely help others on where to go, other than Orchard Central and Kaki Bukit. 👍

I've had good experience at the Jalan Membina branch that's opposite Tiong Bahru Plaza. Gone there twice in recent months, once to switch from eSIM, and then to collect new SIM card. Different staff member but same friendly and efficient service. 👍

The CNY promo best way is either go down authorised dealer who accepts CDC voucher and topup using your CDC or shopee dealers who accept Shopee vouchers (though i think all i seen so far has surcharge but still better after the coin cashback even with the surcharge).

Simba sucks big time in HCM. Kept disconnecting and connecting and a lot of time no signal or can camp to network but no data.

almost unusable.

first country to be in the blacklist for Simba for me.

From experience, personally suspect it to be more of a Vietnam issue.
When I visited, had issue trying to hook onto Vietnam's network initially too, not only on SIMBA.

I agree it is the situation in VN. It's a first world problem -- we are so used to good coverage and speed here.

just got back this afternoon from 2.5weeks in VN, 10 days in HCMC, 1 week in Hanoi.
travelled with both eight and simba in my phone.

Same situation both north and south.

Initial connection took about 5-8min for both telcos.

Their coverage in street was good eith eight(Vinaphone), ok with Simba (mobifone). once indoors, eight was just slightly better, but both often could not connect. Fortunately, most places provided wifi, even coffeeshops, and they were very willing to share the password, so the connectivity was not that bad.
With the ample wifi, i used about 1GB for the 2.5 weeks.

Generally no problems on eight as my primary SIM there. Simba was my backup.

the worst case was in the immigration queue at Tan Son Nhat airport - the queue is famous. Admittedly i arrived at peak hour after lunch. In the hall:
- eight could connect with no drops, but slow.
- simba had coverage, but simply no connection (full bar aeroplane mode). probably due to lower priority and/or simply too many people.

My base line: In the past, i used to buy local SIM from Viettel, which had much better coverage and speed

Since roaming is bundled with the telco plan, I'll live with the current situation, and only buy local SIM where bundled roaming coverage is not included, or where I am there for a longer trip

yup. my friend using xiaomi had difficulty getting onto a network for entire day. My S24 also intermittently disconnects. Sometimes good, sometimes bad

Yes, so it's more of Vietnam's telco issue than user/user telco's issue.
Since most face issue connecting initially and takes a while to eventually connect to Vietnam's network.
