i am wondering why he wants to upgrade to $12 plan for just extra 100gb data

more roaming data for more roaming destinations, e.g china?

He actually posted clearly the reason of upgrade.

******
I am upgrading from the Simba Senior plan ($5 a month) to the Simba Superroam 12 plan ($12 a month).

The new plan offers the following.

The SIMBA SuperRoam 12 plan offers a generous data allowance that can be used across Singapore and Malaysia, along with a separate bucket of data for roaming in many other countries.

...
I will be able to terminate my Celcom Life SIM card, as the Simba plan offers sufficient data for use in Malaysia.

Yes, that is probably the reason, as well as roaming to other places like China.

I should have not quoted the last sentence.

In his other post, he clearly shows that SIMBA senior plan 400GB is good enough for his usage in Singapore and Malaysia.

******
I used the Simba senior plan ($5 monthly) on roaming data in JB yesterday, after cancelling my Celcom line.

I checked my usage on the Simba app today. It showed the data deducted from my 400 GB quota for Singapore. Data used in Malaysia comes from the Singapore quota. This is great.

I did not have any complaints about slow connection. It may happen in some locations but it was temporary.

Now the whole world knows his number. Prepare for more scam calls

He actually has a recent post explaining this.

*****
I do not mind or care that my mobile phone is known to others.

Some may use it to scam me. I know how to deal with them.

Some may use it to waste my time on useless messages. I ignore them. They are also wasting their time.

Some have malicious intent. I curse their parents.

Several people send private messages to tell me that my phone number was exposed, for example, my post on Simba.

I told them not to waste my time also. They may be fearful that their phone number is exposed. I am not.

Nope, is your VOLTE turned on?
What device are you using?
Yes, VOLTE for sim 1 and sim 2 are turn on.
I am using Samsung A42 5G which is support for VOLTE.
I tried call local number and Malaysia it is OK.
The plan superoam 12 should come with 600 IDD + SG mins .
Maybe I should explain more , it show " call end" immediate the line is connected ???

Hmmm... using natively phone app too?
I ever gotten that too due to poor connectivity, just made a IDD call earlier this week to China and due to poor connectivity, receiving party couldn't hear me clearly and got dropped too.

I suspect might possibly be the connectivity.

Whatever the reason, I remember most vividly his photo ops with China mei mei's. $12 plan is perfect for CN trips

What's that? 😮
personal wise:
comprehensive strategy for how an organization will continue its essential functions during and after a disruptive event like a natural disaster, cyberattack, or pandemic. It is a proactive plan that includes procedures for responding to, recovering from, and restoring operations to a predefined level.
