Any ways to use this card to pay S&CC charges? Just now wanted to pay at counter, cannot as they ONLY accept cards from MAJOR banks. Can't pay via AXS also as it only allows MasterCard for other debit cards payment.

for AXS payment, only MasterCard can be used for 'other' credit/debit cards.

i don't think it's major banks la, but basically a card issued locally by banks that ppl can recognise and not cards a regular joe on the streets might have trouble pinpointing 'what bank/card is this?'

might want to have someone ans if they managed to 'bluff' the counter into accepting. i believe what i heard b4 is some town council give you a form and insist you put a name of bank in, you just put the singlife card number but put DBS they will just take the form. the bank name is more for formality and unwanted likelihood got chargeback or dispute issue then will come into picture (hopefully this won't happen if you do it this way cos more troublesome when you wrote the bank is a bank and not Singlife when they do all the refund/paperworks very mafan one). that will be one of the small risk you take la but if everytime deduct swee swee all the while then perfecto.

Tbf unless they really no what’s Singlife, u can just tell them to try using the card on the terminal, u can say that if it doesn’t work, it wouldn’t work.

I guess they just don't want any issues with payment, like not going thru or refund, when it is not from a so called major banks like what silverbomb had mentioned above. If they do not want to accept the card, I cannot force them to take it right?

I have used Grabpay Mastercard at Pasir Ris town council office for many months without issue. Grab is also not a bank.

I am putting forth what you can do, but yet you keep finding reasons not to want to try it.

So what's the outcome you want to get?

hahahha, thanks anyway. I am just looking to see if anyone know of any other platforms, e.g like AXS, where I can make payment and not looking for 'ways' to ask them to accept the payment at the counter.

not hostile la. is about being outcome-based.

You can always ask the person nicely.

Only when they ask for it I pass over to them to insert in the terminal. But so many months liao I think they see this card often so now when they ask I say Grab. Then they just take it.

If the staff say non banks cannot maybe tell them Grab also not bank but accepted and this is similar.
