can GooglePay or PayNow be used instead of Paylah?
I think people want to use 3$ discount on Friday 🤣
Btw prior versions of paylah simply doesn't work at all
I got mine working by "upgrading" my Xiaomi.eu build because it already contains safetynet fix and McDonald's doesn't check once you sign in

If I have to use magisk again I'll just jump off the nearest building

Btw, for 19.1 Singpass - the issue was a crash with this Exception:

So not sure if it's ROM issue, or app issue or KSU issue.

so tempting, but my phone is running kernel 4.14 and not officially supported.
By any chance, do you know if it's easy to replace the kernel? will there be any side effect like randomly reboot or calling issue?

You can use custom kernel, you can find them on XDA or Telegram

You can also self compile your own kernel, if you have access to the kernel source
You can use my github for reference.
The commits of interests are 57e0683592c8fa3b69b3f84972242cc9b2647b6a and 7827993a0275f90532daf75ffd4c492610d97bae
To do selfhost, you need to run a virtual machine. Modern computers should all capable of running hyper-v on windows 10 or 11
You then install Ubuntu into Hyper-V. You need to set virtual switch to external. After Ubuntu is up and running on Hyper-V, install runner, follow the instructions on github > setting > action > selfhost

Typically, self compile from rom's kernel source is more reliable because nowadays custom kernel seems to not work properly for every rom.

Thanks for the instructions, but I feel dizzy looking at the amount of work needed to kick start and get it done for just my device, I think the benefit can't justify the effort.

Do you know why so? is it because they add funny things in the custom kernel? How do you define "reliable"?

It largely depends on how "open source" the said device is. Google device are totally open source so there shouldn't be noticable problems in using cutsom kernel. However, some devices are partially open source so some rom maintainers will do their guess works to get every single thing working. Sometimes, to get everything working, they also need to do specific changes to work together with the rom which custom kernel author might not be able to keep up with since the kernel is made for general distribution, to work with as many roms as possible.

The best outcome of a custom kernel is of course able to use your phone with all the features. The second best outcome is to forgo some of the features like partial access to camera capability and perhaps IR access. The worse outcome is your phone runs horribly.

You can always try a custom kernel and flash back to stock kernel if encounter any deal breaking issue. To flash back to stock kernel, just flash the boot.img and dtbo.img from your rom zip.

Thanks for the detailed explanation.
My phone is a Xiaomi Redmi ; although Xiaomi publish the kernel source code but there's no guarantee it's the same as what Xiaomi actually shipped in the phone.
Devices shipped with Android ≥13 use GKI kernels, maybe I'll just buy a new phone instead https://source.android.com/docs/core/architecture/kernel/android-common
Now I'm waiting for my 3-year-old $300 phone to die.
