Currently using Wi-Fi 6 Router (WG660242-ST). Will try the suggestion to shrink IP pool range to .180 tomorrow. Gonna get hang if I screw up and ruin soccer night later haha. Thanks in advanced!

Oh one more thing, I used to port forward a port of the Asus router (192.168.1.199) from the SingTel router in the past, do you foresee any issue if I do the same here? (assuming I can get by setting static IP for Asus router first)

I do not see issues with port forwarding.

Sorry, missed out this part earlier. The Wi-Fi 6 Router (WG660242-ST) is connect to ONR.

Btw, after assigning the static IP, does the reboot order of the SingTel/Asus router matters?

Are you sure you are using SingTel ONR? SingTel ONR has no wireless function and have the IP address of 192.168.1.254.

Then your Wi-Fi 6 Router (WG660242-ST) connected to the ONR will automatically run in AP mode and have another IP address at 192.168.1.xxx.

The reboot order does not matter.

Oh, it seems to be ZTE ONT V4 based on this link. Misleading stuff.. :x

Gonna give it a try once I can afford network downtime. Thanks again!

Update: Managed to assign static IP to Asus router, shrink IP pool and reboot Asus then SingTel router successfully. Thanks Xiaofan!

Hi guys, Singtel came over to do up my recontract for 5Gbps at $29.90 per month last week. I recontracted via the link Xiaofan shared, HUGE thank you to you!! So I'm sharing about the process. I'm not some heavy bandwidth user, just looking for cheap and stable plans. Some "weird" things that happened:

1. Prior to the appt, my contract actually stated the WIFI 7 router. To be honest for me, I'm not that particular about speeds. Just need a stable network to stream normal shows and general internet/app usage. And at any point of time, only 1 or 2 people will be using the WIFI network. So whether it's the WIFI 6 or 7 router is okay for me. (Side note, I was just a little worried about whether the specs of my household devices are compatible with WIFI 7, since some are a little old).

2. 1 day before the appt, I received this "free offer" from Singtel - free Singtel TV. I dunno what kinda bundle this is. I asked again and again whether there will be extra monthly charges. The agent over the phone said "no, installation is free, no additional monthly charges on top of the internet". I just agreed to it since it's free. I'm also not particular about any TV entertainment since I hardly watch TV, but my parents may like to have it.

3. During the appt, the young technician who came over installed the WIFI 7 router at first. Somehow or rather, I just have this feeling that some weird problem may crop up, so I offered him a cold drink to set him at ease and told him to take his time. He told me that the Singtel TV setup will probably be on another appt date, which kinda confused me, but I didn't ask much since I don't really care about the TV package lol

4. After everything was installed, he suddenly received an update from Singtel saying that my package is different (I guess there were delays in their sales communication). He dismantled the new setup and returned to his car to retrieve a new set of equipment, this time including the TV stuff, but the WIFI 7 router got changed to the WIFI 6 router.

5. In total, the technician stayed for like 1.5 hours lol. He became quite chill and friendly and honestly mentioned that Singtel equipment actually sucks, and regardless of whether it's the WIFI 6 or 7 router, the wireless range is shitty because Singtel simply wants its customers to pay more money to upgrade to the elite routers (but I guess the WIFI 7 should be faster lah). He also taught us how to configure, reconfigure and use the equipment (inclusive of the Singtel TV box).

6. When the router had some initial trivial connectivity issues, he was also happy to pick up my call on his personal phone to troubleshoot for me.

So far, I have double checked the contract price and it seems like its at $29.90. The costs/figures for the Singtel TV service agreement are completely empty, which suggests that it's true that it's completely free. I have also removed all the ridiculous unnecessary add-ons for the Internet package.

I will check the new bill when it comes in March to absolutely confirm that there are no extra charges.

Wonderful sharing. Thanks.

1) Looks like indeed they claim the WiFi 7 router bundle is a "system error", same as other users. Only @cstanhwz managed to the the HB611-SGST from Singtel.

2) This new free TV bundle is kind of new. Let's see what is inside once they updated the service aggrement or when you receive the first biils. Thanks.

Let's see if Singtel will get rid of the lousy WiFi 6 device from the 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps recontract offers.

It will be good that the "system error" with Singtel WiFi 7 router HB611-SGST bundle for the 5Gbps recontract offer at S$29.90 per month will become a reality.

The "intern error on a Sunday afternoon" for the Starhub 5Gbps offer at S$29.55 per month with free TP-Link HB710 turns out to be a true promotion a few days later.

If we look at the Singtel New Home offer, maybe Singtel will ditch the lousy Singtel AX5400 devices and go with only HB611-SGST and HB810. Let's see. The price is not that attractive though --> but we can use this as a base to see potential good recontract offer coming out from Singtel.

Singtel new home offer
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/broadband/eform/newhomes

3Gbps Enhanced (WiFi 7) Plan at $38.90/mth (U.P. $84.90/mth)
  • Comes with XGS-PON Optical Network Router + 1 unit of Singtel WiFi 7 (TP-Link BE11000)

5Gbps Enhanced (WiFi 7) at $49.90/mth (U.P $95.90/mth)
  • Comes with XGS-PON Optical Network Router + 1 unit of Singtel WiFi 7 Router (BE11000)

5Gbps Enhanced (WiFi 7) at $53.90/mth (U.P $129.50/mth)
  • Comes with XGS-PON Optical Network Router + 1 unit of TP-Link WiFi 7 Router (BE22000)

5Gbps Enhanced Mesh (WiFi 7) at $56.70/mth (U.P $113.90/mth)
  • Comes with XGS-PON Optical Network Router + 2 units of Singtel WiFi 7 Routers (BE11000)

10Gbps Enhanced (WiFi 7) at $66/mth (U.P $139/mth)
  • Comes with XGS-PON Optical Network Router + 1 unit of TP-Link WiFi 7 Router (BE22000)

10Gbps Enhanced Mesh (WiFi 7) at $76.80/mth (U.P $157/mth)
  • Comes with XGS-PON Optical Network Router + 1 unit of Singtel WiFi 7 Router (BE11000) + 1 unit of TP-Link WiFi 7 Router (BE22000)

10Gbps Enhanced Mesh (WiFi 7) with Lifestyle Gadget from $79/mth
  • Comes with XGS-OPN Optical Network Router + 2 units of Singtel WiFi 7 Router and a choice of Lifestyle Gadget

I recently recontracted to the 29.90 plan with SingTel, will I be able to use the TP-Link HB710 issued by Starhub if I bought it over carousell?

Please note even they give u HB611, if u still on windows 10, the 6ghz wifi network will not be broadcasted for you to connect. I am using the wifi 6e network card but windows 10, old MB with no TPM 2.0, so cannot upgrade to windows 11. I googled, some said windows 10 can work, have to use back older network firmware, tried and also other suggestions, all cannot, so I guess only on windows 11 then you are able to see the 6ghz network appear. For me, it means I have to upgrade my PC then can connect to 6ghz network...

Say the HB611 is connected to 10G lan port of the ZTE ONR, will I be able to get more than 1000mbps speed on the 2.4/5ghz network or must be 6ghz then can get? I am now only getting 600+mbps, even worst than my previous 1Gpbs plan, when I can easily get 700-800+ mbps speed...
Finally able to connect to the 6ghz network after I upgraded to windows 11, but at the expense of upgrading to a $210 motherboard, $300 CPU and $100 rams, so instead of thinking I will save more by recontracting to the cheaper 3gbps plan, I spent even more in the end.

Indeed that is an expensive upgrade.

On the other hand, Windows 10 is going to die so you anyway may need to get a new PC compatible with Windows 11.

Back in 2022/2023, I was thinking that 2.5Gbe home network was enough and ISPs would not drop the price of 5Gbps/10Gbps plan price so fast -- so I spent quite a bit of money on 2.5G capable mini PCs and wireless routers. In the end I had to invest much more on 10G capable mini PC, 10G capable switches, multiple 10G network adapters and two 10G capable WiFi 7 routers (HB710 and Archer BE805).

BTW, I am still thinking that 2.5Gbe home network is enough. Most of the users may have none or only one 10G capable wired device anyway.

I was thinking since going to upgrade, might as well upgrade to the latest, I got the 14th gen core I5 CPU (I7 and above out of my budget), DDR5 rams, but motherboard is only 2.5gb capable, so is not the latest as my budget is only up to $200+. Anyway I am already happy to see I can get above 2000mpbs speed now, but so far only once I got above that.

Hi guys,

Just updating on this sweet deal. My new bill came in and it was $29+. Singtel TV is also indeed a free add on. Very strange why it wasn't offered to others.
