Anyone managed to get the new ONR? would like to find out if other ports have internet access once the 10g port is bridged.

If you are talking about the new Nokia XS-240X-A ONR, one user just got it but he was not able to bridge the ONR.

New Nokia XS-240X-A ONR for Singtel:
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...ps-3gbps-xgs-pon-based-plans.6930337/page-249
Hi all, require some advise..

Just upgraded to 10Gbps on Singtel (was already on Singtel ONR previously) and gotten a Nokia XS-240X-A ONT as read in the forums, but when I login to check via superadmin it shows that my ports are all in Route Mode instead of Bridge Mode.

Screenshot-1.jpg

I did attempt to change the 10G port to Bridge and I just lose all internet to the HB810 provided.
Wondering if since this is an ONT, how do I reconfigure it.

Currently connected via

Nokia XS-240X-A ---- HB810 Node A Configured in AP (Living room) ---- HB810 Node B (Bedroom) ---- Wired Ethernet 10G port to PC & Wired Ethernet to PS5.

I still have my Asus Router connected to a 2.5GBps Port on the Nokia XS-240X-A

Nokia XS-240X-A ---- GT-AX11000 (Living room) ----Asus Zenwifi XT8 (Bedroom)

Issue being Double Nat / Nat Type 2 and I'm unable to connect remotely without having to portforward (in which I did and able to connect remotely with PS Portal before the 10 GBps upgrade)

I am trying to configure the ONT to be bridged on to HB810 as the ONR (Portforwarding done) got replaced with the newer ONT, and looking for advise to do so I dont have to live with double NAT..

Nokia XS-240X-A ONR is very new so no one has published the bridging instruction.

It is reported to be easy to bridge by the only user of Nokia XGS-PON ONR at that time.

Unfortunately just found out this thread after moved from Starhub to Singtel 5Gbps plan and struggling with port forwarding to access my IP Cam. I have gotten ZTE F8648P ONR and Singtel Mesh Extender Wi-Fi-6 (WE620242-ST).

Port forwarding on the ONR initially seems ok as I was abled to do a telnet port connection test to the IP Cam, however not sure whether is there any routing issue, actual connection to the IP Cam web UI were extremely slow or non responsive and getting the video feed was never successful.

I then setup another old Asus wifi router behind the ONR and connect the IP Cam to it. I did port forwarding on ONR and again on the Asus wifi router. This way I am able to access the IP Cam normally. Not sure why. SIgh!

Also does anyone know if the WAN port on the Mesh Extender WAN port is a 10G or 1G port? If it is not a 10G port, it really defeat the purpose acting as a Wifi 6 device.

The mesh extender is only up to 1Gbps.

All the following Singtel WiFi 6 router or mesh solution are only up to 1Gbps becasue of 1G WAN port.
Singtel offers the HB810 as a 10G capable AP for Singtel 5Gbps/10Gbps users.
You can get HB810 if you want from Singtel at S$16.80 x 24 = S$403.2.

Subscribed to a 5Gbps plan but they provide a device that up to 1Gbps. 😩

They can argue that SingTel ONR itself is a 10G capable wired router since it has one 10G capable LAN port (along with four 1G LAN ports). The AX5400 wireless router or mesh extender is there to provide the minimum wireless function, say you can get 600Mbps or a bit better at close range. If you want the HB810, you have to pay more.

In fact the lower cost 5Gbps/10Gbps plan from Starhub is similar or maybe just slightly better. It comes with Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR which is also capable of 10G since it has one 10G LAN port (along with three 1G LAN port). It is a bit better than SingTel since the Nokia ONR has AX6000 wireless function built-in. So you can get up to 1.2Gbps to 1.6Gbps at close range. But you can only mesh it with Nokia Beacon 2 (AX1800, 1G WAN port). If you want to get the 10G capable wireless router (EB810v or HB710), you have to go for the more expensive plans (but now it is better than SingTel since you get ONT in this case). For Starhub 5Gbps/10Gbps users, you can also get EB810v at S$360 or HB710 at S$192.

Old report about the successful bridging of Singtel issued Nokia XS-240X-A XGS-PON ONR. No bridging method has been posted in this froum.

BTW, Starhub is configuring the Nokis XS-240X-a as an XGS-PON ONT and it is the default ONT used by Starhub 5Gbps/10Gbps users.

I now keyi bridge 3 ports, keep calling 1688 disturb them then a tech came down change for me a nokia ONR. All good now

@BlonkBloink managed to sort out the issue with an totally unexpected way -- he got a new Nokia XGS-PON ONR which he can bridge.

@BlonkBloink
Would you be able to share the model number of the Nokia XGS-PON ONR? Thanks.

When you say bridge 3 ports, do you mean that you get 4 public IPv4 addresses? Or 3 public IPv4 addresseses? I remember 4 is not possible.

And just wondering if you can get IPv6 to work or not. If yes, native IPv6 or 6rd? Thanks.

Reference: only two users get Singtel native IPv6 to work with the ZTE F8648P ONR.

As attached, 1 routed 1 bridged, total 2 ips tried 3 it broke LOL. Model number all that was advised by the tech to not release first

Also dont have ipv6 native. 6rd works but ping is crazy(dont use it)

There is a rumor saying that that SingTel has changed the DHCP server behaviour and your ONR MAC address is registered when you first register and get the DHCP from SingTel DHCP server. Basically only the MAC address of the ONR will work with Singtel DHCP server.

This will basically kill ONR bridge mode because after bridge your own router connected to the bridge port will not get the IPv4 address.

For those who cannot bridge the Singtel ZTE F8648P ONR, maybe this is the reason.

Let's wait for more reports to see if more and more people are getting affected. Or this is just a temporary experiment from Singtel side.

I was also suspecting SingTel DHCP server changes previously when I was not able to bridge the ONR back in mid-August. Once I bridged one port, I would lose internet access. This could be explained that the DHCP server only allows single MAC address from the ONR to have internet access. Once they detect that you are requesting the second public IPv4 address from the DHCP server, they would cut off your internet access. Luckily I was able to bridge the ONR in late Oct 2024.

If we based on existing reports, Singtel issued ZTE F8648P super-admin login info is as following.

User name: support
Password: reverse of the root password printed on the label

However, there is a report saying that SingTel may have changed the passwords for new ONRs, no longer the reverse. This will basically kill the bridging as well unless someone figures out the way to get the new super-admin password.

Previously there was a report of Nokia G240 GPON ONR super-admin info which is very much similar to Singtel F8648P.

Maybe Nokai XS-240X-A XGS-PON ONR will have the same method to log in as super-admin.
User name: support
Password: reverse of the password printed on the label

Let's hear from new users of Singtel issued Nokia XS-240X0A ONR.

However, there is a report that another user cannot log in his Nokia G240 GPON ONR super-admin account using the above-mentioned log-in info. This may kind of confirm the above report that Singtel may start to change the super-admin password generation method (hopefully not totally remove the super-admin account).

As per the report, Nokia G240 GPON ONR super-admin login info is the same rule as the ZTE F620 GPON ONR. It is mentioned in Post $71 of this thread.
Username: support
Password: the password printed on ONR label but need to input in reverse order.

You can try it and update here whether you got the success or not.

I can confirm that these credentials do not work.

user: support
password: {reverse of admin pswd}

Model: G-240G-E
MRev: 03
Manufactured: 04-2022

Just curious. Can we clone the MAC of the ONR and use it on our own router?

Not useful in this case as you will have duplicate MAC since ONR is already there connected to SingTel side equipment and it has got the public IPv4 address from SingTel DHCP server. So your router will be rejected by the SingTel DHCP server.

You can of course try to use an XGS-PON ONU/Stick to replace the SingTel issued XGS-PON ONR altogether. Then you can duplicate the ONR MAC address to the XGS-PON ONU/Stick.

Unfortunately there are no successful stories to replace the XGS-PON ONR with an XGS-PON ONU yet in this forum.

Reference: past failed attempts
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/fully-utilize-singtel-2gbps-network.7041131/page-4
The only models from VSOL which are compatible with XGS-PON are VSOL V2902A-XGS (RMB 590), XGS-PON+10GE+1GE SFU ONU; and VSOL V2905H-XGS (RMB 599),XGS-PON+10GE+4GE+1USB3.0 ONT
Reference price is from Taobao VSOL shop.

https://www.vsolcn.com/product/xgs-pon-10ge-4ge-1usb-3-0-ont-v2905h

However, it is said that replacing an XGS-PON ONR is much more difficult, so far no successful story to replace Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR (Starhub 5Gbps/10Gbps plan) and ZTE F8648P ONR (Singtel 5Gbps/10Gbps plan).

Yes, replace ZTE F8648P ONR for 10Gbps plan with VSOL V2905H. Already get PON and WAN up but can't get public IP in bridge port. Those with GPON experience, can share how to resolve this ?
