After testing, can confirm that the bridging infact is working as expected!

To clarify, the router on the third image is plugged into LAN2 if it wasnt clear

Hi
Your router plugged in Lan 2 = 1 Gbps ?
How come not connected to Lan 5 = 10 Gbps ?

My entire home network running on the 10gbps at this time, I was worried that it might brick that specific port or what not since it already happened to brick the whole device previously via ONT so I did testing with a seperate router on LAN 2

Eitherway, since LAN2 at least can be bridged I would assume LAN5 can also be bridged.

Ah ok ..noted on that
Currently my Asus AX86U is on Port 1 and thinking to bridge it.
And TP-Link HB810 BE22000 is on the Lan5 (10G)
Do you encounter any issues when you execute it ?

Nope, will just need to restart the router on LAN1 to ensure that the address is correct.

After you bridge LAN 2, then you get a new public IPv4 address on the router connected to LAN 2 (your Asus router).

What about the unbridged port of the ONR? I assume your LAN 5 (TP-Link router) is still working, right? That means you have still have the public IPv4 address.

That makes it similar to Singtel 1+1 Gamer bundle -- where only one port is bridged (to connect to Asus RT-AX86U) and the other three ports unbridged (for another router and Singtel TV boxes), and there are two seperate networks and two Public IPv4 addresses.

If this is true, that is interesting.

Singtel ONT users are able to get two public IPv4 addresses (up to three) with a hack using a managed switch after the ONT. That is to say, you can have two (up to three) seperate networks, each has its own public IPv4 address from Singtel.

If you can bridge LAN 2 on the ZTE XGS-PON ONR for the 10Gbps plan, that means you can have two public IPv4 addresses. Maybe you can bridge one more port and get the 3rd IPv4 address (but you may not want to try that).

Yes you are correct, LAN5 which is the 10gb port was still working when I was testing it out. I believe that what you are saying is correct as well that we have two public IPv4 addresses.

However that being said, I'm unable to double confirm that now as its not really a convenient time haha

Wow interesting, seems like 10Gbps Singtel ONR users also like Starhub, able to bridge port and essentially work like ONT. Nice.

Just an update -- Starhub has just changes to use XGS-PON ONT + TP-Link EB810V. New users will not need to carry out the bridging any more.

BTW, it is not recomended to further bridging more ports. Pulling two IPv4 addresses for non 1+1 plan is already a loophole. So better not to pull one more, even though it may work.

It was mentioned that you would get problems if you pull 4 public IP addresses from SingTel -- no internet for at least 24 hours.

Sorry to hear that.

Unfortunately Singtel is correct in this case. They do not support bridging of ONR. You are on your own. If you take the risks and in the end can not recover and need to get Singtel technician to come down to help you to recover, then this is not Singtel's fault and they have the right to charge you.

If I were you, I would bring the ONR to Singtel Shop and try to get a free replacement there.

BTW, Starhub's charge may be even higher if it is deemed not to be their fault. Even if it is their fault, they actually charges S$13.08 transportation fee as well.

For typical users who do not want to live with the limitation of ONR, better to sign up with MR or Starhub, as they use ONT and offer WiFi 7 router as well.

Stahub: free 10G capable WiFi 7 router, TP-Link EB810V (triband, BE22000 rated, dual 10G ports, 3 x 2.5G ports), 2nd unit to be purchased at S$15 per month x 24 month.

MR: 10G capable WiFi 7 router, TP-Link Archer BE805 (triband BE19000, dual 10G ports, but no 2.5G ports) at S$50 top-up.

bridging at your own risk... unless you managed to act blur and convinced ST that it wasn't your fault, then it won't be a chargeable site visit to your place?

if want hassle-free, just opt for ONT setup, which SH & MR are offering right now...

*do at your own risk

I bricked it once and got it swapped for free, change from ONR to ONT mode while in the support account. You will no longer be able to connect to the device web menu @192.168.1.254 neither will the device connect to the internet. Call 1688, go full dumb and act like you woke up to a broken internet connection. Con is you won't have internet until they come and swap your ONR.

The better way is to first do a USB backup onto your FAT32 thumbdrive (Management & Diagnosis > System Management > USB backup) then switch the ONR to hybrid mode. Internet will be down in hybrid mode but you can still access the device web menu. Call 1688 and complain as above. After booking the tech appt use the USB Restore option in the web menu to revert it back to the old working config. Internet will work perfectly fine.

BTW, my ONR is stuck on firmware V2.1.10P5N10(without the new bridge port option) , tried rebooting via the web menu and disconnecting-waiting-reconnecting in the hope it can catch the new *N15 firmware to no avail. Anyone knows how else to get the ONR updated without having the tech swap the ONR?

Singtel is supposed to push the firmware updates to the ONR periodically. If that is not done, you have two ways.
1) Contact Singtel to swap the ONR
2) Contact Singtel to see if they can push the firmware updates remotely, or send you the updated firmware so that you can upgrade the firmware by yourself (not so sure if the ONR provides such facility or not).

So you will still have to contact Singtel to see if Option 2 is possible or not. If not, then you will have to go with Option 1. You may want to check with Singtel to see if you can go to +Serv @ Orchard Central and get the ZTE XGS-PON ONR replaced there.
