I tried but internet was very slow, 0.08 mbps with 900 ping using Speedtest with iPhone.

Default gateway should be the LAN IP of the ONR.

Summary of my problems.

Basic info

ONR -> Switch (patch panel) -> APs

APs channels have been set to reduce interference and power adjusted to fair

ONR - 192.168.1.254
5 APs (default gateway values)
66u - 192.168.1.2 (0.0.0.0)
87u - 192.168.1.3 (0.0.0.0)
66u - 192.168.1.4 (192.168.1.254)
66u - 192.168.1.5 (192.168.1.254)
87u - 192.168.1.6 (0.0.0.0)

Was using VQ with this setup with no issue till around early Feb when I changed to ST. Still work perfectly fine till this morning.

During the period when I was using ST, I changed my MioTV setup boxes configuration as ADSL is ending soon.

Everything was setup by myself as ST engineer was afraid of damaging my CCTV equipment/wires.

At first all setup boxes did not work until ST engineer suggested clearing the OBM(not sure what is this) for 1 of the machine and advise me to call back to clear the other 2 after CNY.

9th March 2018, I called ST to clear the OBM for the remaining two boxes and went to sleep. Woke up today and face the following issues.

I tested all APs using speedtest app on iPhone with ST servers.
1) All 66u ping was above 900
2) speed started normal and went down to 0.00 values (e.g 0.08) during testing
3) upload speed face the same issue as point 2 but slightly better speed
4) have no issue with my 87u
5) WebUI for all APs have become slow randomly

I have tried resetting 1 of the APs but to no avail.

Anyone got any idea what went wrong? :s22:

Are all your routers in AP Mode or Router mode set to different IPs ?

obm is some kind of onboard memory?? Maybe the non volatile settings stored in nvram. Are all your MioTV set top boxes connected to the ONR?
Anyway, you have a lot of equipment and so you need to do some divide and conquer to narrow down the source of the problem.

Try to find a quiet time and disconnect everything from the ONR, then connect back a few devices at a time and at each stage, do some checks that they are all working properly before adding back some more devices. Looks like the last change was to the set top boxes so you may want to try to disconnect those first.

Somehow I managed to get all back to how it was. :s12:

In case for those who have the same problem as me can try these steps.

I changed the default gateway for the APs to a random address and then back to the ONR’s address.

Sadly I have some problem again after 3 days.

My APs have internet when using lan port. However when connecting via WiFi speed is very slow, sometimes even no internet connection.

Any guesses so I can google for solution?

check that your wifi channel is not congested, and that there is no obvious interference.

if the above is okay, consider rebooting sometimes do help.

Also, it will be good if you can let us know which AP is it? are you connected to 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz?

All APs affected, both 2.4 & 5ghz.

All APs running 2.4ghz. Only 87u running 2.4 & 5ghz. Channels were chosen using analyzer app. Different levels channel 1,6,11.

I have rebooted many times. Even factory reset my APs; which did not work. I then factory reset my ONR also. Currently ONR is factory settings.

Been using VQ for 4 yrs with no issue. After changing ST problem started. Not sure what went wrong.

I don't think the issue lies with ONR since you mentioned there is no issue with LAN? Did you try using LAN on AP?

I'm assuming you're using the singtel AP though. If it is, better call 1688 for them to check your AP if its functioning as expected..

Lan on APs no problem, only WiFi.

Singtel AP no problem, only my ASUS APs. Might have done some settings wrong but am unsure where.

Any settings I should take note?

Sorry for late reply, went overseas.

Just did a reset for all the APs and have the following issues.

1) 87u no issues, only 66u.
2) have ensure settings for both 87u & 66u are the same, AP mode.
3) for the 66u, I tried setting it as router (192.168.2.1) while ONR is (192.168.1.254). It works but I think this is double NAT right? Switch back to AP no wifi is very weak but lan port on AP is working.

Asus in ap mode has no special settings customised for singtel. Do a reset of the ap then..

You cannot run a router behind onr, regardless of whether it works or not doesn’t matter, cos eventually it will fail and it’s a matter of time the IP address clashes.

Your ac66u might be faulty perhaps..

Will bring down to ASUS service center to check. Btw any recommendations should there be a need to replace the AC66U. Lan port required. 1200g+?

After testing for weeks, I finally found the problem but could not find a solution.

Current configuration - ONR -> Switch -> MioTV & AP (same switch).

When MioTV is on there will be no WiFi, but once MioTV is off WiFi is back to normal.

Singtel came down to check but is unsure what is the issue. They told me might be my port but I have a feeling it isn’t because the port is working fine be it internet or MioTV signal.

I did some research and it might be due to my switch having NO vlan function. I’m not sure about this but I have no idea who to consult.

Has anyone run the same configuration as me before?

Can you confirm if you're using ont or onr?

Onr linked to switch should be able to provision both singtel tv and AP concurrently. Onr will segregate the traffic at onr level and your switch doesn't do anything else actually..

What Switch are you using.

If using some of other switch which may cause the issue in MioTV and Internet.

Yes confirm ONR. My switch is unmanaged switch. No vlan capabilities.

Unfortunately I can’t see the switch now. It’s mount vertically in a wall mounted sever rack. I only know it’s a unmanaged switch. So for Singtel MioTV what sort of requirement is needed for the switch?
