IMHO.
IIRC. I tested in MY. Eight cannot use Simba to do Wifi Calling. But Simba can use Eight. :ROFLMAO:
I was able to use Maxx wifi calling over Simba hotspot & Maxx wifi calling over eight hotspot, in MY
As well as Simba/eight wifi calling over Maxx hotspot.
Anything over Zym hotspot doesn't work.

Eight's wifi calling for me is not very reliable, sometimes doesn't work, even using home wifi.
It is clearly not a setting issue, since it usually works.

Bring back to the topic, with this info, it could be possible that Singtel over Maxx/eight/Simba hotspot might work, or over backup calling.

I tested Wifi calling over mobile hotspot, which worked in the scenario mentioned.

Are you using backup calling ?
I didn't test backup calling since it is not easy to trigger for testing.

I’ve never even gotten wifi calling with eight in singapore
Did you have a chance to test it with multiple wifi network ?
If just home wifi, you might need to change some settings on the wifi network/router/firewall, specifically outbound IKE/IPSec UDP port 500/4500

You guys all seem to have multiple SIM Only plans from different providers.

Haha, I only have single S$15.28 Singtel SIM Only plan.

I used to have a China Mobile number for short trips to China but it no longer works.

Singtel allows only if you are connecting from SG IP. Eight, Simba roaming gives you SG IP.
This is probably true for M1/Maxx as well.
And I suspect eight also, although I have seen it working very rarely on overseas hotel wifi.

Simba is the only one so far that pretty consistently works on overseas wifi, still not 100%, could be due to the hotel wifi blocking wifi calling traffic.

I connect Simba to Eight and Heya hotspot to do wifi calling.
Then I connect Eight to Simba hotspot for wifi calling

And this last one doesn't work ?
I didn't try eight wifi calling on Simba hotspot, but Maxx wifi calling on Simba hotspot did work fine.

Alright, seems like from an old SIngtel FAQ...

How do I activate WiFi Calling on my mobile line?

There is no need to activate the feature however, to experience WiFi Calling, your Singtel line must be:
- on a postpaid mobile plan and activated with 4G ClearVoice
- used with select supported handsets purchased from Singtel in a WiFi-enabled area

How do I enable WiFi Calling on my phone?

This service is only supported by selected handsets purchased from Singtel Shops. More phones supporting this feature will be available in the coming weeks.
Once enabled, WiFi Calling is activated automatically whenever your mobile phone is connected to a WiFi network. Once you’re out of the WiFi range, your phone will automatically log on to the cellular network.

Where can I use this service?

You can use this service over any local WiFi connection. Use of this service at a WiFi hotspot overseas is currently not supported.

Alright, seems like from an old SIngtel FAQ...

Singtel WIFI Calling

Thanks for the info. I find out it is the same for M1 and Starhub. That should cover Maxx and Eight as well. So looks like only SIMBA will have working VoWiFi overseas.

For local connection? It is working for me with my Poco X7 Pro and Singtel SIM Only plan.

You may want to set to prefer WiFi network than mobile network. If not difficult to fall back to WiFi Calling.

it may be the phone eg:
nothing phone 2 with different SIM cards:
- Gomo: works
- eight: does not work
- Simba: works

same SIM cards in 1+12, then 1+13, and 1+13R:
- Gomo: dunno, already ported out.
- eight: works
- Simba: works.

VoLTE works for all SIM on both phones.
Set to "Prefer VoWiFi"

just my limited experience

edit1: to try and force VoWiFI, turned on aeroplane mode, then turned on wifi (data off). No change.
edit2: all phones were NOT telco phones
edit3: by " it may be the phone" i mean, whether the telco supports it for VoWiFi
