Strange to see one wearing a Guards tab, but with green infantry beret. Wouldn't the khaki beret take precedence over the green beret? Or has things change?

I think formation takes precedence. Saw before Combat Engineer with Guards tab and blue beret.

i think u misunderstood.. NDP 12 GOH is a new batch.. they used NDP 11 GOH for the Swearing In.

If I am not wrong, service/vocation berets win over 'course' berets.

Eg:

1) You pass out as an army driver wearing blue beret from driving course but post to RSN as driver, you will needs to wear RSN beret.

2) You are a commando but now sign on as RSAF vocation you will wear RSAF beret instead of army red beret.

3) If you ORD as a NSF Guard but now sign on as commando, you will wear red beret with Guard Tag.

4) Commando OCT wear red beret for infantry OCT course (However I do not know if commando OCT commission as a commando or infantry officer because after OCS, newly promoted 2LT commando still needs to go for Conversation Course).

i thought CDO OCTs are picked from their own pool, so he is already a CDO when he enters OCS.

GAIT and GCC are not the same, commander and man level.

your beret colour will depend on your "present" vocation. however, the exception is that for armour, combat support will also wear black, not sure about service support. same for guards if you have completed GAIT or GCC.

you see that guy had a CSB badge, so he is likely to be a spec. my guess is, he was a guards spec, but later signed on for a infantry vocation. in that sense, he had to change his vocation to an infantry.

i suspect that guy is infantry and he merely went for some "enrichment" courses, which in this case is guards course.

kind of like those army regulars who went for naval diving course and got the badge but are still army personels and not navy (ndu) personels.

They'd already completed their airborne training + proven their worth during their CLC, their training is almost complete, only the COCC is left. Furthermore what is the commando vocation badge (collar) without the red beret to match? Give them some credit and let them wear the red beret for the parade lah

Haha, the true is while their course mates are still at CSLC, their unit throw these OCT candidness to OCS with their 3SG!

how many weeks do they spend in OCS? upon graduation and completion of COCC do they lead back the same cohort with whom they did BMT with?
