I highly recommend the SHISEIDO Anessa Perfect UV Mild Milk (see post #4)

they have 4 versions, out of the 4 versions, 2 of them have alcohol.
Make sure to get either of the two with the word "Mild" in the name (the alcohol-less formulations)

  • SHISEIDO Anessa Perfect UV Mild Milk (HIGHLY recommended)
  • Anessa Essence UV Mild Milk (recommended as well but this is for dry skin)

You can get it from Watson easily at $39, $32 when on discount.
I bought mine in the first week of May and have been using them once/twice daily, until now I still have half a bottle left. So I estimate one bottle can last for about 3 months

Few questions when it comes to using new products.

  1. Did you simultaneously introduce a few NEW products together?
  2. Are there sudden lifestyle changes you made concurrently when you just started using the product?
  3. Are you experiencing Hormonal changes?

To isolate it to the specific product that you think gave you the outbreak, you need to do elimination. If you introduced 3 new product into your skincare routine, how do you know which is the one that you is giving you side effects?

Lifestyle changes include. Did you suddenly eat a lot of oily and spicy food such as Ma La Xiang Guo? Durians?

Hormonal changes for males for example, if I suddenly increase masturbation from once per day to suddenly 3 times a day, 3days later I am sure to have pimples. For females, this can be attributed to their period.

Anyway
Which product are you using?
10%.... so I assume it is niacinamide

To be honest, niacinamide should be very well tolerated by most skin types, even sensitive ones.

But again if you are absolutely sure it is this product that is giving you issues. Stop using it completely.

1: Yeah you're right, so I introduce 1 by 1 for now
2: lifestyle change probably no
3: hormonal change I not sure

But everyday weather quite hot can increase sebum 😭

The first one has stearic acid can clog pores

both the DeVita, Solar Protective Moisturizer SPF 30+, and the SHISEIDO Anessa Perfect UV Mild Milk contain stearic acid

but with people on this forum arguing with me over obvious things like denatured alcohol, let's not make things too complex for them even further

stearic acid is far far lower on the ingredient list of the Shiseido one, suggesting that the product contains very little of it.

So even if it is comedogenic, personally I will ignore it.

odds of the Bioderma Sensibio causing outbreaks or purging is HIGHLY HIGHLY unlikely

unless the one you bought either expired or not genuine, or, you didn't buy the pink one and bought the green or blue one instead which might not be suitable for your skin type

such indicators are inaccurate and vague

consider where you buy from.
if it is not a reputable shop, you have your answer

if you bought from a reputable shop then just stop using it and throw away

Hi any bb cream recommendations?

I only use CC creams before

"it cosmetics" is good

but don't get their matte range, it doesn't blend well.

bb creams and cc creams are just a marketing gimmick. traditionally many foundations for dry skin already come with the same additional hydrating elements.

calling something bb or cc cream just makes people feel like they're "more natural", but there's really no difference from light to medium foundations.

i don't believe in mixing the two. i think it's best when you can customise the moisturiser with your foundation for the day depending on your skin. it's like when cooking, if you cook with salted butter, then you cannot control the salt level well in the final dish. but if you cook with unsalted butter and add your own salt, it's much better.

sorry, and to reply directly to the blending statement, it's actually often reviewed as "blends well". it could depend on the brushes used or practice/skill

not that i like i.t. cosmetics though, never tried it because it's just too plain
