What u guys think of Chanel CC cream? :)

My CC cream experience is very limited considering I only tried one brand before.

But personally, I will recommend "it cosmetics" cc cream

do not get the matte line of cc cream though
it doesn't really blend well into the skin

Wow but can use sunscreen and skincare stuff during NS? Won’t get judged ah, lol

unfortunately, I cannot commit to my skincare routine due to military obligations

and no. I started reading into skincare because I want to correct my enlarged pores amongst other skin concerns

but my skin has improved since then

part of the reason SkinCeuticals got famous was because of their Vitamin C serum. This brand though is quite expensive but it is because of SkinCeuticals that jumpstarted my interest into reading up on specific ingredients

so good recommendation there on SkinCeuticals

yes the thing that got me first started on their pdts was their CE Ferrulic.

Is Skinceuticals worth the price it commands?

There are patents on some of their formulation, otherwise plenty of cheaper alternative makers in the market. They have worked well for my skin over the yrs, so i am reluctant to switch and rock the boat.

otherwise worth it or not depends on individual. office colleagues got ladies tell me cle de peau worth it, La mer worth it ..

subjective question really

depends if you are looking for specific active ingredients or you want an all-in-one

I am a "key ingredients" guy there's almost no real reason for me to pay a premium for expensive all-in-ones when brands like The Ordinary contain a higher percentage of the key ingredient I am looking for at a much much lower price

however, I do lust after very well made and though out all-in-ones once in a while:

Exhibit A :
https://www.sephora.sg/products/allies-of-skin-1a-all-day-pollution-repair-mask/v/50ml

Too expensive though, so unless I am middle income and above. No.

Which do u prefer? Skinceuticals or Allies of skin?

Seem that their products have a shelf life of 6 mths after opening?

I have used neither so I don't think I can say for sure

But again, I brought up Allies of skin because they are currently THE ONLY BRAND which includes the active ingredient : Teprenone

Teprenone has been found in vitro to protect telomeres, telomeres are the protective cap of our DNA which shortens every time cells divide. This shortening process is associated with aging, cancer, and a higher risk of death.

This is why I am so interested in Allies of skin

Also, you can buy allies of skin in Sephora,
Skinceuticals cannot right??

I’m tempted to try Allies if Skin. Just need to wait to finish all
my other products first. Hee

ALLIES OF SKIN
1A All-Day Pollution Repair Mask

https://www.sephora.sg/products/allies-of-skin-1a-all-day-pollution-repair-mask/v/50ml

take note though, the effects of Teprenone is preventive
just for Teprenone alone, you won't notice its benefits until decades later (with continued use)
it works by extending the Hayflick limit, and the effects of Hayflick limit while inevitable, comes only after many, many years

but with 3 months of use, you should notice pores getting smaller and skin getting brighter and lighter with these two ingredients listed below:

  • Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate
    [*]Niacinamide

other ingredients which are extremely beneficial with scientific proof are:
  1. Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5,
  2. Acetyl Tetrapeptide-40,
  3. Palmitoyl Tripeptide-8
which are basically different forms of peptides

and mind you, these ingredients are placed high up on the ingredient list (meaning they come in significant amounts) not to mention it contains many other things which are beneficial for the skin, but I did not mention them because their benefits are not as solid scientifically proven as the ingredients I listed above. (e.g. atas antioxidants: Astaxanthin, Glutathione, Tetrahydrodiferuloylmethane and many other which I am unfamiliar with)

I think the price is justified. I will definitely buy it if not for my income status

so yes, in theory, this product is awesome looking at just the formulation.
but do know, these benefits will only show after minimally 2 months of use

also, overall the formulation has to not trigger sensitivity with your skin. if not no matter how good the ingredients you also cannot use

not very familiar with their other products

what got my attention was Teprenone as mentioned, and no other brands in Singapore currently have that
The product above has both Vit C and Niacinamide btw

But if you mean specific things like retinol serums, I rather get it from The Ordinary. Because why? no-frills.
Since you are specifically looking for retinol and mainly retinol, why spend more on another product which cost more just because they mix retinol with some other things you don't need?

(with that being said there are a few variants/types of retinol. Tretinoin, for example, is mainly prescription only)

In short, I cannot vouch for the Allies of Skin as a brand.
but I can say for sure the "1A All-Day Pollution Repair Mask" is very well thought out product

The ordinary 10% quite strong

if a particular serum is too strong for you

mix it into your moisturizer in your palm then apply it
slowly over time as your skin gets used to the concentration, your skin will build tolerance to the specific ingredient

with that being said, if you are suffering from drastic side effects, stop using a product altogether

PS: this is why I love The Ordinary. Their products are exceptionally potent.

Very nice thread, I just bought [La Roche Posay] Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ 50ml to add to my facial regime.

Hopefully it’s not too late to prevent pre mature aging

Few questions when it comes to using new products.

  1. Did you simultaneously introduce a few NEW products together?
  2. Are there sudden lifestyle changes you made concurrently when you just started using the product?
  3. Are you experiencing Hormonal changes?

To isolate it to the specific product that you think gave you the outbreak, you need to do elimination. If you introduced 3 new product into your skincare routine, how do you know which is the one that you is giving you side effects?

Lifestyle changes include. Did you suddenly eat a lot of oily and spicy food such as Ma La Xiang Guo? Durians?

Hormonal changes for males for example, if I suddenly increase masturbation from once per day to suddenly 3 times a day, 3days later I am sure to have pimples. For females, this can be attributed to their period.

Anyway
Which product are you using?
10%.... so I assume it is niacinamide

To be honest, niacinamide should be very well tolerated by most skin types, even sensitive ones.

But again if you are absolutely sure it is this product that is giving you issues. Stop using it completely.

despite La Roche Posay being a fantastic brand, I will not personally use the product that you bought. Why? it has denatured alcohol in it.

Science on why alcohol bad is very solid and backed by evidence and research. so do what you think is best. Don't really want to nag at people on alcohol again.

Hi renzo..

Any good reccomenations for pure mineral sunscreens with no alcohol and good texture for oily skin?

Would prefer if the brand is popular and easily accessible.

Much thanks!
