Nope. Drill type. But thinking to use 3M Command since its only for temp few months. Hence wireless everything. Wifi + battery + solar power. don't want any perm cable or drilling.

I believe the global ones don't go thru China server?

Xiaomi President warns: next year's smartphones will be even more expensive

Xiaomi just published its results for the third quarter, and the company is also warning that global memory chip prices will drive smartphone prices up.

Memory is getting more expensive because of the AI bubble/boom (pick which one you want/believe in). Memory makers like Samsung are deprioritizing memory production for phones, since the data center market for AI is where the money's at right now.

According to Xiaomi President Lu Weibing, all of this means next year's smartphones will be even more expensive than this year's. "I expect pressure to be much heavier next year than this year. Overall, consumers are likely to see a sizeable rise in product retail prices. Some of the pressure may have to be addressed through price hikes, but price increases alone won't be enough to digest it", he said.

So the relentless upward trend of smartphone pricing is not going to stop, reverse, or even slow in 2026. Every device will be getting more expensive, again - that is, of course, if Lu's predictions come true. We hope they won't, but look at where smartphone prices are today compared to a few years ago and you'll understand why we're not holding our breath.

Not only dram and nand flash storage. Next year 2 nm chip will be super expensive. Got report of tsmc 2nm chip cost 50% more than 3nm chip.

im use the poco c71 for hotspot with a roaming sim card (physical sim) when traveling in china. battery performance is very good and i unplug can last about 12 hours with 3-4 devices connected and still have 50%+ left end of the day even with hotspot on thoroughout. usually used to send whatsapp and maps and didi only so no heavy usage.

really exceed my expectations this phone. i buy only $57.15 on shopee which is cheaper than those mifi hotspot i buy that overheat and barely last 2 hours. and since is a phone can make calls as well

4GB RAM or 6GB RAM version?

I do not want to buy any Android phone with less than 8GB RAM since 2020.

I bought Poco C75 and later C85 with 8GB RAM.

Actually the Poco C85 is not an intended buy but Poco C75 became very low volume so I got Poco C85 as the replacement. But Poco C75 volume low issue were fixed with a cleanup by the service centre.

Delete the profile that is setup in your phone IIRC.

I thought there is already one at Jem?

https://www.mi.com/sg/store/xiaomi-store/

The store at JEM is so-called "Xiaomi Experienced Store", same for the one at Jurong Point. I think they are not operated by Xiaomi Singapore itself.

Westgate may be the real "Xiaomi Store" like the one at Jewel, Funan and Tampines Mall. I believe they are operated by Xiaomi Singapore itself.

Yup. The banner I saw at Westgate is "Xiaomi Store". Should be direct Xiaomi. The Westgate Xiaomi is located beside Starhub.

IIRC their XM stores even carry Poco phones
Prices not great since it's msrp like all brand in stores

But their keyboard/mouse, powerbank , earbud can buy since those are some items which brick and mortar xiaomi stores actually offer good value if you catch their store discounts
