Yup it is the CPU connector. The fact that I managed to plug in despite the shape indifference, a toddler can do better than me.

Now the next problem.
Windows 7 Profession CD cannot be installed via External DVD Drive.
It says drivers not found. Crap.

Ok so now u have managed to get it boot. But for your external DVD drive, have you tried other USB ports to see if it can dectect? Next you can see from your BIOS page to see if the DVD drive is it been detected by the system. If not check your cables or change to other cables to teat it.

Because Skylake no longer supports external USB/CD drive Windows 10 installation without any EHCI driver.

Fret not, use this:

Create a Windows 7 USB thumbdrive with this patcher...

I was also an OSX user. Lucky everything works at first try.

TS need to create a USB bootable Windows installer,
Change boot order in BIOS to read USB thumbdrive first

To be honest, win 7 is too old for Skylake..
Even if you manage to install, it has tons of updates.
In future, it won't be supported for skylake also.

Get win 10 from reddit, solved all the prob.

No worries. I always get mixed up which cpu pin goes where. Very confusing and even if you plug in wrongly it still goes in, especially when you mix up the left and right side one.

Actually... It is almost impossible you can insert it the wrong way. Cos for 8 pin CPU connector, latches of each 4 pin halves have to be adjacent touching each other to be able to clip on the CPU connector notch. And the notch is only on one side too.

Old but gold and stable. Also safer without spying nor games installation autobot activities... :s22:
