iTunes couldn't even detect my phone in recovery mode - this means hardware failure, not software issues.
yup itunes couldn't detect my phone in recovery mode too. what i had to do was uninstall itunes, every apple software on my pc, the drives and then created a new user account on windows. after which, it worked. also the reason why i update OTA nowadays. LOL.

anyone encounter battery drain issue even with 10.1.1 update?

phone was on flight mode, battery drain mysteriously like 10%.

i experienced this also, sometimes the battery percentage jumps from 18% to 1% then it will die. After i plug in my charger it will back to 18%...

You have to go to the windows control panel and install the driver manually. I gor the same problem as u. U google n you will find it. The iTunes installed the driver in the windows dont work.

The driver can get it in the itunes folder after u install itunes.

yup, using windows...

I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, same result. Even tested on my son's PC - also can't detect my iPhone on his iTunes.

Anyway, like I said the topic is redundant now.

Apple delivered my replacement 6+ on Wed, set the phone up, plugged into iTunes, updated to 10.1.1 and then restored from backup.

AppleCare+ is a lifesaver! All you need is just 1 incident like this to make it worthwhile.

I didn't check here but I encountered this a few days ago. Their appointments fully booked so I tried other methods, in the end reset it to DFU mode and restored it. Turns out is cable problem (Error 9).

My iTunes keep reminding me to update my iPhone firmware to 10.1.1.

However, I have already done so and the window still pops out whenever I plug my phone in the USB port. What gives?

Apparently there is a newer version of 10.1.1 so that's why you're getting the iTunes prompts; just ignore it if you're already upgraded.

Before updating to the newer version of ios 10.1.1 my iPhone 6 build is 14B100, after updating it is 14B150.

From what i found out is that ios 10.1.1 build 14B150 is not available as an OTA (over-the-air) update.
