Yesterday afternoon my iPhone 11 Pro got hot suddenly and battery was draining very fast. I found out that Documents & sync were transferring excessive cellular data, over 20GB in 3 hours. That shouldn’t happen at all. Anybody have had this issue?

screenshot of e batt stats will say which specific apps r causing e drain?

Thanks! This helps a lot.

I found out that WhatsApp drain the battery the most yesterday. After checking through the settings, i found out the my chat backup, which usually have an error (failed to backup), was backing up yesterday using cellular data based on the last backup timing. That's why my Documents & Sync ate up so much data.

The problem now is how to turn off mobile data for iCloud Drive? I can't seem to find that setting anywhere in iOS13. I've turned off WhatsApp chat backup for the time being.

Update: found it.

What about Safari and YouTube? Those are the apps that are widely reported to be affected.

if YouTube is in e last 9 active apps it doesn't reload. same goes for Safari's current active tab. I have tons of tabs in Safari, if I go to an old tab it does reload.

Music app on iphone 11 pro max & iOS 13 has a habit of either not responding to my earphone remote, not responding at all (but still have music!) or freezing & causing phone to become unresponsive (albeit for short time) and finally exiting & phone works again.

This started since iOS 13 & has continued despite updating to iOS 13.1 & every version released.

iOS 13 has been frustrating to use on my XR and 11 Pro other than dark mode. RAM clear outs and overall smoothness has affected daily usage. On iOS 12 for one year and not faced a single problem. If not for AirPods Pro support, I will downgrade back, really disappointing.

(P.S. My iPad 2018, on 13.2 hasn’t even faced these issues)

I had a similar experience too. After reading your posts, I checked my data use. Turns out Home Screen in System Services churned through a good chunk of data even though I was on Wi-Fi. For what purpose, I don't know.

My phone started acting up in the evening. The phone became warm, battery drain was perceptible and the UI turned to molasses.

The first thing I did was to shut down the phone as I figured there had to be some background process running amuck. There were no open apps at the time.

Booting it back up didn't solve whatever was happening. So I shut it down again and juiced it up. Booting it back up fifteen to twenty minutes later calmed things down significantly. The phone went back to normal a little while later.
