the pros outweigh the cons in this update. Suggest don't downgrade.

Pardon my ignorance. But other than the Whatsapp chat notification that cannot be swiped away, what other cons were there on iOS 8.0.2? Didn't found any other than the Whatsapp chat thingy. To me, battery life outweighs all. LOL

Asking from any guru out there:

Must I be at my PC/Mac to do OTA update via wifi? Been trying to do OTA away from my computer but is does not prompt me for ios 8.1 update.

Will be away from home the next few days...

Tired turning off and on iPhone 6 and off and on wifi but it does not help.

Thanks in advance.

I hope you have some form of backup for your data prior to updating.

idk about you. Mine was Wifi, message app, phone very slow/lag.

The wifi was the deciding factor. To me, wifi outweighs all.

Oh yeah, the wifi 5 Ghz issue. Experienced that too. Oh well, hope 8.1.1 will be out soon. Thanks for your input anyway! :)

Just received carrier update on my iPhone 6 Plus. I'm on StarHub. Still not toggle between 3G and 4G.

Using 8.1 for whole day so far no more wifi drop outs.
To me it is the most impt factor too

Oops.. Typed the previous message in the wrong post.

Anyway, those who want to update iPhone 6 from iTunes on Yosemite but you get a phone server error,
You may need to update iTunes thru App Store, then sync iPhone with iTunes . After that, updating to iOS 8.1 will be very smooth :)

I'm using iPad 2 on iOS 7.1.1.

I hope to use iOS 8 features. Those who updated iPad 2 to iOS 8.1, how is the performance?

Hmm honestly I won't recommend to upgrade. Mine is still on 7.1.1 and is working perfectly. Already some games are sligjy lagging and it might be worse on ios8 due to older processor. I am no expert but I see no major improvement for our ipad2 to move to ios8. May want to check out the iPad sub forum.

Thanks. It's pretty quiet there. I hope to use iCloud drive on iPad 2 butt it may be too slow for the required ios 8 or 8.1

I am expecting wifi issues to be solved by 8.1. But it isn't. Still dropping wifi signal. Once dropped, I have to off and on again.

I am giving up on apple. IP6, 64GB, Silver. Going up lorry.

No issue for me so far after updating..

Thanks for helping. Tried resetting network. Helped a while but wifi dropping came back.

Do you guys have General / Background App Refresh turned on or off? Seems like no more Wifi dropping problem when on. Not sure. Still observing. I may be wrong.
