Asking from any guru out there:

Must I be at my PC/Mac to do OTA update via wifi? Been trying to do OTA away from my computer but is does not prompt me for ios 8.1 update.

Will be away from home the next few days...

Tired turning off and on iPhone 6 and off and on wifi but it does not help.

No need to be tied to a computer to update.

Try going into your settings and click on software update. After that, it should tell you there's an available update and prompt you to continue.

Isn't 2g just as easy as turning off cellular data??

Not sure why. Updated my 6 plus and now battery seems draining much faster then usual.

For iPad, I use iTunes to update. If using wifi over the air, it doesn't detect the 8.1.

2g means gprs although technically it's almost non existent but I think some people prefer it for more battery saving?

Is it jail broken? If really cannot. Do a backup. Reset the phone. Then update

those that cant get the updates...

1) do a backup
2) do a full reset
3) check for updates OTA

Just reformat my iPhone 6 which i OTA this morning to 8.1. Shall monitor the battery life.

yes, many people reported it. I'm one of them. Hence i reformat my phone.

yes GPRS, good enough to receive whatapps msg... can last 2 days just on that... during work it's the best...
