Sony A6000 Owners Thread

Hi all, I am looking to try out long exposure photography with my A6000 and my humble 16-50 kit lens.

Did some research and thought it will be easy to get a large ND filter (the circular ones) and use a step-up ring on my kit lens...cos 40.5mm is quite hard to find.

I was considering using a square filter as I think in some cases, a GND filter will work better.
But can't seem to find the right-sized filter holder for my lens.

Anyone using square filters on the kit lens? Also, can share what filter brands you are using?

I am using this lens on a6000. Picture definitely much sharper then the kit lens. However, I sometime find that it's not wide enough. I got a 19mm subsequently and use the 19mm more frequently when travelling.

Anyone using Sigma lenses on this cam? Esp their 30mm..would be interested in your experiences.

I have something similar, using on my kit lens 16-50mm.

It will cause vignetting at the edges when shooting at less than 24mm (if i remember correctly).
Also the corners are quite distorted and the "curve-in" effect looks a little odd if you examine closely.

But if you just want a quick fix to get more into your picture, then i think it's pretty decent for about 20 bucks

Looking to get A6000 with an all rounder lens for travelling. As wife don't like to change lens, think she won't like the prime lens. I intend to get a sigma 19mm for myself.
