Sony A6000 Owners Thread

Hi all, sorry for the noob questions. Have googled quite extensively but haven't really got my answer.

I own a A6000 with SEL1855 lens. The bokeh and quality is good but i realized i have to stand very far away to take photo everytime. Especially during a group photo.

Will a SEL35f18 solve the problem or should i get the SELP18105G which i supposed is more all-purpose.

FYI, the A6000 is a 1.5x crop APS-C sensor, so with a 18-55 lens, it gives you a 27-82.5mm focal length in 35mm equivalent.

the 35mm prime is narrower than your kit lens at its widest focal length... it will not help for your group photo, the 18-105mm is equally wide as your kit lens at 18mm...

you will need SEL1018

thank you for your kind reply. Can i say that the SEL1018 will be a good all purpose lens? I am going for a holiday soon and will probably be shooting landscape all the time. Oh, and my girlfriend

If you have the $ then by all means SEL1018

If not can get the Samyang 12mm f2 for at like 1/3 of the price. Is the SEL1018 3x better than it? Probably not.

Just that it is totally manual, no auto focus, no EXIF data will be transferred. But those are ok as I personally prefer manual focus for better control. Unless you shoot action which need fast and different focus constantly then it's another story

I am about to go for holiday in Melbourne soon, and I'm stuck with two choices
1) SEL1670Z
2) SEL85F1.8

Currently I own a Sigma 30mm F2.8 & SELP1650(kit) with A6000, and I normally use Sigma 30mm F2.8 as my main lens. I got no tripod, all handheld.

16-70mm because I like the idea "1 lens for all situation", but F4.
85mm is really nice, but no OSS. When I trying to take a pic, its shakes a lot.

1670 so far serving me well for trips. Only situation is when I set higher shutter speed for pets in less than ideal lighting conditions with its f4

A6000 is still one of the best budget mirrorless camera in the market. And Cathay photo prices are the cheapest in Singapore imo

Any comment? Lens looks cheap enough for a f1.4.

Decided to get the A6300. Should I buy a lenses considered I shoot 4k/1080p videos and take pictures mainly for travel, streets and landscape? How will a A6300 without lens perform?
