which serves your needs better, nex3 or the a6k?

if you do not need the features of a6k, i think spending the 170 repair work is worth it.

A6k has quite a few features which I like, but is the difference in IQ significant from NEX3?
its comparing 24mp against 14mp...

Hi all,

Will like to ask for advice here.
I am currently holding a NEX3, the first gen of NEX.
The camera is fine, working well until like a year ago, the scroll wheel doesn't seem to work. When i press left, the option of down came up instead. Thus i cannot change the exposure settings easily.
Just checked with sony, the repair for this will come up to ~$170.

OTOH, the A6k is about $810 for body alone.

Will you, if in my shoes, repair the NEX3 or upgrade and get the A6k?

I upgraded from NEX C3 to A6000. The upgrade is. definitely worth it if you use the camera often. The AF and the new accessories it supports is definitely worth it.

the a6000 comes with an iso hotshoe. that itself opens the possibility for flashgun or other iso hotshoe based accessories.

the wired remote is a must for low light shots or fireworks

a6000 now supports class 10 sd cards. we used to have to get the more expensive memory stick if u need high speed memories

Good deal, but A5100 does not have a viewfinder, which might come handy in bright sunlight

But if u wear spectacles, the viewfinder does not work very well because the stock eyecup is designed for non spectacles users. I have to DIY mod with a Hoodman eyecup.

Hello, may I know of a good camera bag for the a6000?
The thing came without a case right? (Like those compact cam will have the black base to wrap around)

I also need a good battery and external battery charger, using the usb in cam charging function is too slow..
