You saying Z9F is QLED technology?

QLED is not even a technology to start with, before QLED this term already have Z9 this series tv already. How is it QLED technology

Q=Quantum

If you say Q is not new technology. Then LED, OLED is also the same.
Even LG SK85, 95 series is also Quantum technology. Just different brand has slightly different implementation and call it a different name.

Ya so for the Q which stands for Quantom Dot is not a technology at all. It’s just a colour filter like a colour enhancer added to the tv which Sony has their own Triluminos Display and LG is Nano Cell Display. Every tv has their own name, yes you’re right but it’s still a colour filter only.

Yes, LED or OLED is nothing new but why mislead people that QLED is new? It’s still a LED tv, an overpriced one.

So every other brand all follow Samsung? Only Samsung can do it? Then why other brand don’t name their tv as QLED too when you say it’s a new technology. I’m sure if it’s a technology to call it and other brands will follow too right (just like OLED) since you say all brand are under Quantom technology?

And Sony already used Quantom Dot before few years back before they switch to Triluminos Display. Am I right?

You forgot the special material used in the filter.
Also you forgot Sony basically don't make panel. Their panel is supply by varies maker and especially the high end model, from Samsung. Just call it different name that's all. In fact both Samsung and Sony release in the same years. Just that Samsung further improve the QLED in 2018 and more in this year model.

Well, this is a debatable topic, just the way you alluded to it, it is not a new technology by an improvement in the light illumination would mean an improvement to the existing technology right?, that would amount to new innovation huuh. But according to contributors at tech radar
"So, really, it's not a next-gen display technology at all, just a tweak to LCD TV tech" which sums up your claim.

Btw is the latest Android 7.0 software support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos?

Sent from Samsung SM-G975F using GAGT

As long as your tv has built in support for DV or DA, it should work.

I'm using X8500F, no DV support, only Atmos and it was working right out of the box on Android 7.0

I saw on a later post that you're getting a 49X9000F, it is a good choice, I chose the 43X8500F, the smallest one due to space constraint.

Got a x9000f

Sony X9000F Gain city expo fair now at
49" $2040, 55" $2399 (free moving wall mount + delivery, 3 years Sony warranty) In the end settle with the 55" X9000F since the difference is just $359 only. I still believe in Sony as my current working is a older Bravia 40EX520 which will be move into the master room.

Courts 55" X9000F at $2640, 49" out of stock at courts. Apparently X9000F 49" and 55" almost all gone or left few in warehouse of different electronic stores as it was discontinued. (HN, BD GC, Courts) The new G series arrived at stores already.

Chat with those tv specialist/promoters in those different stores, they all agree that Samsung 2019 series is really cmi at high price which subpar quality even with their QLED series but Samsung tv will sell well due to pricing, promotion and aggressive marketing. LG wise very aggressively promoting its OLED which they said not really good too. Their LED don’t even bother.

They say SONY more expensive although made in Malaysia compared with the rest of the brands which is true but they said 一分钱,一分货, not say throw in a lot of freebies mean a good deal, it’s the long terms usage, technology used, panel used, and picture quality so X9000F won’t go wrong, it’s a flagship of 2018 from Sony, just one level below their OLED lineup.

You’ll love it. Don’t have to spend too much to get a great panel. It’s a crime the 65” is ~$1k more. Else I would have been a happy man.

The answer is clear get 55" X9000F, if you die die want X8500G, just buy X8000F. cause no point in terms of spec and price.

Yesterday I also saw the 2019 X8500G and X9500G, last year X9000F (not even display as they only got handful of set left) at gain city expo fair.

The upgrade from X9000F to X9500G is not like wow, it's incremental upgrade like iPhone X to XS but pay a lot more as it's a new product. Sales rep also tell me not worth it too.

X8500G not need to even say, it's cheaper due to edge-lit LED just like X8000F. Only X9000F and X9500G come with FALD.

All 2018 F series left from stores and warehouse from various electronic stores once sold out the handful stocks will remove display set (display set in good condition are almost all sold as well).

Thanks for the info, managed to get the price matched at $2399 :p
Glad that you got the same model and price! From gain city too?

Sony don't throw voucher like LG, gain city only give me moving wall mount which is good and useless keyboard which I don't care, all I want is X9000F. Haha!

LG their oled special price at $2988 is alot cheaper after all the freebies deduction that consist of voucher and sound bar worth $1090 which mean I can actually get LG OLED 55" B8S at "$1898" but in the end I pay $2399 for Sony Bravia.

Sony do something similar during the so call Sony day. Many years back, Sony day use to be a big event as only once a year. Now a day is like few times a years. Missed this one? No worry, just wait for the next one like PC show.

I got Harvey Norman to match the price but no other freebies la, so u still have the better deal with the keyboard (useless :p) and movable mount. Anyway, saved myself some time by looking at this forum instead of going to the physical stores to check :)
