don't expect the tv works exactly like any android smartphone. But for me. It not important at all. I just want a display where I can watch football and movies.

Review is rather subjective. Buyers may tend to like the certain brand , features . Curved or flat etc

Tks. I'm more concern abt the pic and sound quality as compare to LG and Samsung.

For both of my Draco stb and Philips tv, the signal strength meter show up in the manual tuning page. This is a logical place as one needs to know how good is the signal when tuning. Perhaps it is the same for Sony.

It is, it is...showing up in the manual tuning page (for my Sony as well).

But cannot check the signal strength for those channels that are already automatically-(digitally)-tuned?

I just wanna see if adjusting the location of my antenna can impact the signal strength of my tuned digital channels in real-time.

Anybody using KODI on the new Sony TV experiencing an issue whereby the TV's volume is increased to maximum volume after any video playback using KODI?

Does it happen for all your videos? Or only those using certain audio codecs?

Btw, one problem I encounter is that the Sony Android TV is extremely sluggish when you power it on again (while KODI was still running in the background when it was previously turned off).

And the annoying thing about KODI is that it always seem to hang when trying to quit it after it has been used for a while.

Usually have to force kill KODI or reboot the entire OS to resolve the lag.

Good! Just select the channel (ie 27, 29, 31 or 33) that you want to check the signal level, even though it is already tuned. It is not nec to press the search (or tune?) button.

Actually I think this Android TV has issues performing graceful "app termination". Even for the native media playback apps. Got 2 of my microSD cards corrupted because of this (the TV also don't inform me when it's safe to eject).

From PlayStore - should be Isengard 15.2 RC now.

Read somewhere that activating audio passthrough is telling KODI that it shouldn't do anything to the audio & simply hand it as is over to whaever external receiver. Hence the volume control ownership is also handed over to the external component (be it a speaker or a A/V receiver).

That said, today I observe the vol-max-out bug not occurring for a couple of movie files being played in KODI. So that threw a spanner in the works.

This will take some monitoring.

Actually what I wanted to imply was that sometimes when we thought we turned off the TV, it's still running some apps in the background. This is apparent when sometimes we power the TV on & it shows the splash-screen while sometimes it doesn't.

...From PlayStore - should be Isengard 15.2 RC now.

That's strange; I'd also installed from the PlayStore last weekend & gotten an earlier version:

& somehow, in its (KODI's) home screen, there's a scrolling marque of the upcoming version:

But no sub-menus to update it. Do you know how I can update it to 15.2?

Okay, turns out that although the startup splash screen shows 15.2 RC2, system info shows 15.1.

Thus, confirmed PlayStore should be the 15.1 release build.

For 15.2 RC, you may want to download and sideload it.
I'll probably just wait for it to get published to PlayStore when it goes final.

Anyone managed to get the matching wireless subwoofer SWF BR-100 for the TV? Was told that Sony Asia does not have this as an option to buy. If u have bought one, pls let me know. Thanks!

Btw, I notice the problem (TV volume gets max-ed to 100 after playback of video with audio-passthrough) no longer exists when I exit those video playback properly. Dunno what changed (because previously I believe I'd also exit the playback "gracefully", i.e. I didn't directly jump to broadcast TV from Kodi).

Today was at Mustafa and saw the new range of Sony curve TV...think it was stated as X8500C but I go to Sony web site cannot find any new curve TV from Sony....the appearance look exactly like the X8500C but just that it is a curve TV....should have look behind the curve tv for the model number...

I have this problem too, forgo what I had done.

Maybe u try to clear the search and watch history of youtude. Then switch back to your hdmi 2 and s switch off the tv from there.

This sounds like a separate problem from the YouTube-on-boot issue.

You mean you need to select HDMI2 input to watch the FTA channels?

Hdmi2 is my StarHub box
When on the TV it go to YouTube
Want it to go to StarHub TV instead of YouTube
