Hi all the Display expert out there.

I am getting my BTO soon and I am wondering iss LG - 55UF850T good deal?

I went to Gain city during the weekend, they are giving 32inch TV, Blueray and extended warranty with the purchase of LG - 55UF850T, if i didnt remember the price wrongly, it was @ $2799

Spec wise is LG - 55UF850T good? Because the sale person keep indicate this is the series 8 tv. Want buy buy series 8~ Good buy~

Any suggestion for a cheap and good tv. I need 2, 1 for my living room (55 inch) and 1 for my bedroom (32 inch).

The current offer by samsung and lg, both are giving 40inch tv when you buy 55 and above. Should not be 32inch. The extended warranty is kinda useless. For 2 years more they charge about a few hundred more in term of price to the tv, so therefore its not free, although they say its free....

Does anyone know how to watch Netflix (or get the app) on the Sony Bravia KDL-50W800C. It has Android TV but missing many apps, including the Netflix apps which i have on my other Android Devices. I have a direct wire connection from my router (My republic) to the TV.

You need to set ur google account to US or Eur region, or else u won't be able to see Netflix app in the Play store.

Some small info tidbits I discover

found in X8500C manual but I believe it applies to most of the new 2015 Sony TVs as well:

1. There is one USB3.0 powered port; I haven't found it on my physical unit but it's supposed to be along the bottom of the TV:

2. I used to think my unit is taking a wee bit long between me turning on the main switch & it responding to the "Power on" signal from a remote control. Turns out this delay is documented:

3. The 3 generic-looking cable-ties that comes with the unit has a special head that locks into the rear of the TV for some form of cable management:

the usb port is off to the side, and quite hard to reach once the tv is wall mounted. Those i/o terminals along the bottom is equally hard to get to once the tv is mounted. The tv needs to be lifted and shifted a little as you plug cables and usb devices in.

And can't find the cable ties in my unit, either the Sony guy who mounted the tv took it, or it is never there in the box of w80c, despite the leaflet clearly says it is there, and the leaflet was torn and thrown away by the guy for no reason! But I retrieved it before I threw away the box. Hmmmm..

There're 2 at the side; but what I'm saying is that there is a third along the bottom. We're referring to the X-series, right? But yah, once wall-mounted a lot of I/O becomes difficult to connect.

Do they use their original Sony mounting rack or some other generic brand?

Yes, quite annoying to discover that the Startup Guide was left inside the box.

They used sanus wall mount for my 75x8500c . Unfortunately. The guy threw off the sanus box before I could remember. Anyone know what is the wall mount model they used.

I don't like installer to throw stuff unless being told to. I used to install appliances on people's home and I always reject their request to throw the items and that included the box. I explained to them nicely that customers might call back and reported of lost items or blaming us for that.

w80c. Using the included tv stand as wall mount bracket (I thought 3rd-party VESA mount can not be used, but the book seems to say otherwise, I didn't read too closely, though), there seems like there is enough room at the back to accommodate most cables, as the TV doesn't go up against the wall like a photo frame with the stand (& 2.. stubs/legs..?) right between the TV and wall, holding it up. Just that getting my hand back there and reaching in needs a little work.

Interesting to note there is difference between Sony website info and actual product. Sony website lists 3 usb (side) for the x8500c series & 2 usb (side) for w80c series. the 1 lonely usb at the bottom is completely sandwiched btw hdmi ports and a yellow color port (?), partially obscured by part of the tv body once mounted - very "remote countryside location". No use for these terminals until the av receiver arrives soon (for the hdmi with arc).

By the way, it looks like the latest firmware update fixed the forgotten color & eco mode setting problems, need to monitor a while more to know for sure. Now, upon turning the tv on, the correct color setting will get applied after several seconds. It is easier to see if you specify a color that is warmer in tone (like expert 1 & 2), as it gets reapplied from the blueish cooler color that the tv seems to default to as it exits idling.

I noticed that Vivid picture mode will kick the TV out of ECO mode and you have to manually turn ECO mode on again.

Yeap, tv stand as mount (can saves a little money oh if you don't already have one) is a little less common, been the case for w80 and w70, I think. Exact model number is.. W80C? Sony website will says w800c, but the box says w80c, they are the same, so it is KDL-50W800C. Model designation for 2014 line-up is w800b, so on and so forth.

The operating instructions which you can download from Sony support says that you can use the optional wall mount.

You can get a sense of the clearance since detailed dimensions are given on how to installed the bracket.

don't expect the tv works exactly like any android smartphone. But for me. It not important at all. I just want a display where I can watch football and movies.

Review is rather subjective. Buyers may tend to like the certain brand , features . Curved or flat etc
