Best Denki was selling KDL48R550C at $799 (u.p. $1099) over the weekend. Is the KDL48R550C good? Are there any known problems with this model?

I intend to replace my grandma's 32 inch Samsung TV with this model so that she can enjoy better. No need for smart TV features or anything - just a dumb TV will do.

My thumbdrive got corrupted by the X8500C again (2nd time already). I didn't even launch any app that was using the thumbdrive during this specific session.

Will suggest any owners to use only thumbdrives that one can afford to "lose" data on with this TV. Heng I learn my lesson the first time round & didn't put anything critical on the thumbdrive.

HN is offering Samsung 40JU6000 at $799. Is a 4k model. However only 40in. 550c is not a smart TV, so do consider this if you need a Internet function.

Hmm, make sure that you are viewing one of the HDMI inputs and check if it appears?

Note that the option is not in the first column of options - it has its own column (iirc, it's the 3rd column on my TV).

Only x8500c will have hdr support thru a future firmware update. 55 65 75.

X8300c is the basically like 55 inch x8500c but as in smaller size limited to 43 and 49inch. All using edge lit. Only 65 and 75x8500c using direct lit.

For x8000. a cheaper but dont have the full features that found in x8500c

oni x8500c have the triluminious display. side by side I notice x850c has slightly more vibrant and sharper images. but not by lot thou. see for yourself to justify in the price difference. I have the x8500c for a while now and still quite please with it.
