$1399 is already quite low if check the history price. I do not think there is big room for the price to drop further i.e. below $1000.

Maybe can monitor 55W800C, the room to drop is bigger.

Hi guys need some advise. Was at the IT show Sony booth yesterday looking for a television.

What would you guys recommend: 60w600b vs 55w800c.

I know it is mainly size vs androidtv. Not much use for androidtv personally though so wondering if there are any other differences?

TIA!

If you have little use or interest in Android tv, consider bigger screen or whichever that fits your budget (and available physical space). However, 600 and 800 are 2 different line-ups with 800 having presumably better display panel, picture reproduction and 3D support. Also, B is 2 year-old model, while C is a 1 year-old model (2015), and year 2016 is D, which is probably what the sale people are pushing right now, if they are not already clearing B and C models.

Some of the differences across models are aspects many wouldn't notice until they specifically look for it (type of backlighting, motion handling, display latency and etc), so they are probably not something that you may worry about .

Got my KD-43X8300C late last year, recently i have a problem with the TV. When I power off, it cannot turn off, in fact the backlight is still on.

Had to turn off the main power and start again.

Any one have this problem?

Looking at the display set at mustafa. I find that the X8500D model is much thinner. It really look like the x9000c. No wonder all X8500D models are edge lit led.

My set X8500C also have IR issues when using the remote control . It will become unresponsive if u keep on using it. For example when I keep on fast forward when watching youtube video. I need to remove the battery on and off. Even the touch pad also won't work. It seem the TV build in IR sensor is rather unstable. Now I using my sony tablet or handphone to control. The first initial switching on the TV has to be done by the remote control. But switching off can be used by the tablet or handphone.

I also suspect my x8300 has this same issue. Last few days when I use the one to unscheduled remote no problem turning the TV off. Previously when I use the IR remote seem to have random problem turn off. But I am still verifying it.

Are Sony clearing stock for the X8500C at S$2399 to make way for the X8500D ? Saw their catalogue stating the price.
