Heya! if you can afford to wait you should. there will always be some promo in store one, esp at the year end. If i were you, i would wait
it's already discontinued! Hope they don't go oos too soon :o

Probably u can try to go to the megastore at courts tampines. However u dont want to restrict your purchases on courts for tv. I find best denki pricing is better for high end sony tv.

U have to grab this 75 inch model fast as the current x93D is avaliable in 65 inch only.
I no time to go there as it's very out of the way for me.. have accumulated alot of courts gift card due to credit card promotion.. So I'm stuck with everything including mattresses from courts for my upcoming bto :s22:

For your bto flat, i am sure u need a lot of items for your home, Price differences between electronic shop such as gain city, best denki , courts and NH can be $200 to $500 . It is still saving of $$ and use that to purchase "additional" items on courts. Go to the orchard rd takashimaya best denki and nearby courts store just opp somerset 313.

Looking forward to ZD9 if I cannot get X940c by year end and pair it with Naim Mu-So.

Anyone eyeing on ZD9?

last year dec i bought my Sony TV from best denki. They told me can only hold 2 months but I specifically told them 2 months my bto also not ready. The guy seeing my interest, spoke to his boss and they agreed to keep the tv for me on condition that I cannot change model anymore.

I gladly accepted and only took delivery 5 months later in late April.

But in my case, I paid in full cash upfront to get the best denki 8% cash back promotion at the time

I am using this basic model, KDL-48R550C. Just to ask, I saw this Creative iRoar kind of speakers quite interesting. Can my model work with this kind of speakers?

Not work but Creative iRoar is more for PC than Hifi/TV use.
If you want good sound options, I would suggest:

1) Sound bar, 2.1 design
2) Sound base speaker like Sony HT-XT1
3) Similar portable box shape speaker design.
The latest Sony SRS-Z7 ($499)

Yes this model is more expensive than the iRoar.
However the SRS -Z7 is designed for TV since
it have HDMI input and support Dolby/DTS audio.

And of cuz better build quality than the iRoar.
My vote still goes to the new SRS-Z7, not to forget
you can use it for wireless multi room and wireless surround.

Multi-room means in the future, if you want music in your other
rooms you can just get another Z7 and just stream device
to device.

Thanks for the suggestion, that looks interesting. But my model too basic, no bluetooth, 2 hdmi and 1 stereo port. One hdmi used for my android box liao another i want to use for sony bluray player. So i only left with stereo port ro connect to the speaker box. Is it abit wasteful?

Like that I suggest you get a sound bar or soundbase
since you have multiple devices.
The Sony HT-XT1 soundbase is a 2.0 speaker with build in woofer
and 4 HDMI in around $499.
However I do not know whether Sony still carries it.

If not will be a sound bar like the Sony CT380 but this model is on
clearance as there's a newer model the CT390.
However the CT390 doesn't have HDMI in unlike the older CT380.
The good thing about CT380 is since it is a older model, Sony
is clearing the stock so you may get it cheap.

I am not sure about your budget since you may have to cater at least $600 for a proper sound system with HDMI.
If you are looking for cheaper option than:

1) Get the ZR7, both your Android TV and Sony Blu ray player
connect to VIA HDMI.
To connect to the ZR7, connect VIA Stereo jack 3.5mm from the
TV to the speaker.
Do change the speaker setting in the TV to amp not headphone
for better sound quality.

2) If you haven't get a Sony blu ray player yet, you may want
to consider HTIB?
Like Sony N5200W Blu ray player with 5.1 speaker?
Save you a lot of money and hassle expect the 5 individual speaker.
It have two HDMI in, you can connect your Android TV there.

I layout some option for you to choose.
I am more familiar with Sony products at budget prices.

thank u so much for your detailed suggestions. for the bold part, you mean that, both the android box and blu ray player still connect to TV via HDMI, and TV to ZR7 via stereo jack, right? this way, do I control the volume of TV via TV remote control or the ZR7? And, do you think this is quite wasteful, since ZR7 actually have a lot of functions, features, but I do not make use of them?

I try to avoid home theatre system now because my tv console not suitable for so many different speakers, may not handle the weight

You mean your TV rack cannot handle the weight, actually not to worry.
HTIB in the box, the speaker are rather light.
You can consider speaker stands to put the speakers.

Only if all devices are connected by HDMI, than you
can control all the devices.
If connected by stereo jack, you have to control both the TV
and the speaker individually.
If not I have few suggestion for you:

1) Consider
Sony CT380 Sound bar around $500 with 4XHDMI
Sony CT790 Sound bar with 4X HDMI around $700+
Sound bar weight isn't that heavy, if not you can wall mount
both the TV and sound bar.
Can ask Sony to do the both the installation but you need to pay
additional.

2) Consider
Sony CT180 2.1 $399
Downside of this budget soundbar is optical input only.
So from your TV optical out you connect to this sound bar.
Same thing all your devices connect to the TV.
However like Stereo connection, even with optical input
you have control both the TV and speaker individual.

My best option for you try to hunt for Sony CT380 since Sony
are clearing them you may get them cheaper?
By far CT380 is the best option for value and if you want 4X HDMI
if not you may have to consider CT790 which cost way more.

No problem, do visit Sony store and decide from there.
Cheers.

dun mind me asking a few more questions can?

1. for CT180, connection via stereo jack, so volume control will be seperated from TV itself. the I saw that there is a wireless subwoofer box, with can connect to the soundbar itself via bluetooth, like this, does this subwoofer box still need to connect to power?

2. actually I saw this BDV-E1200 which got me interested now. a little of history, I used to have a Philip home theater which can play blueray and with FM radio. But it spoil last year (the disc compartment can't come out). I couldn't find a unit with similar function (blureray +FM radio), most of those that time were only with DVD, or those super huge unit. So, for the time being I just bought a simple (SGD99) LG HT system from qoo10, which can play CD only but with FM (FM is a must, coz my wife need it). that is the reason why I want to get a blueray box. But now I saw this BDV-E1200, it fits my requirement. my question is, still, I can only connect my TV to this E1200 via stereo jack right? and even when I am watching TV, and I want the sound to come out from this HT, I need to turn this HT on, and adjust volume seperately from TV, right?

1) Only HDMI connection than you can control both the speaker and TV together.
Optical and Stereo cable does not support HDMI device control hence
you will have to control both devices separately.
I see you have a tight budget, so I doubt a soundbar with HDMI may fit your budget.
Have you try to ask for CT380? Since that is a old model maybe it is selling cheaper?
For the CT180, recommended to use Optical than Stereo for better sound quality.
Sony soundbar main speaker uses Sony proprietary wireless tech to connect to the wireless woofer so it is not bluetooth for your info.
Anyway bluetooth data rate is very slow so it is something else which is not disclosed.
Why I mention this is, if you have wonder if it is a BT woofer will it have disconnection issue?
As it is a wireless connection, it will not have such issue.
Do take note that when i mean wireless, the sound bar doesn't need to connect to your router in order to work.
Yes both the main speaker and the subwoofer have individual power plug.
You need two separate power points, do not use one point than use a multi plug as the plug may overload.
I am using Sony CT380 so I am sharing with you.

2) As your budget is unknown or rather tight,
I strongly advice do not go for entry level HTIB like you mention.
The risk of failure like you mention is very high especially if you intend to leave it on 24/7 without switching off.
If you have budget, I still recommend since you want FM get a
proper AV receiver with 5 speakers.
Most basic model will cost around $1k.
You can walk around Courts, Harvey Norman Marina Square ask whether is there any basic model.
However this is if you have the budget.
Yes sadly sound bar doesn't have FM.
If not I still recommend both FM and the speaker to be separate units.

Hope this helps, anything feel free to ask. :)

seems like the sony zd9 is available at COMEX. not sure if there is a display though.

the pricing puts it in direct competition with LG's OLED Offerings
