Anyone will be getting x85j? I am interested in 43inch for my bedroom but worried that it will be an IPS panel.

i was just at BD today, and tempting myself. The 55X90J was offered at $2339. if you don't mind pushing a bit, the 55A80J was offered at $3199, with additional $80 off too. There's an additional $80 cash off for them too.
Both look great, especially the A80J I was tempted too.

also, do ask about the wall mount tho. the sales guy was saying the free wall mount is the fixed mount and appears to be v flat. that will make access to the ports difficult, i believe. alternatively u can pay for the better wall mount that will allow you to have more space n adjust the position left/right as well.

Based on the LG C7 thread posts, looks like the burn in wear is starting in year 4 for the wrgb oled panels. You sure u want to get oled?

didnt read those threads. did they say what kind of content they are watching?
i would think that watching varied content (which i do) will avoid the issue with burn-in. however, i also acknowledge this burn is possible. there are users who have reported no burn-in after a few years, while others say they do!

Normal users watching normal content.

I will soon need to replace my 9 years old Panasonic plasma TV which has many vertical dead pixel strips. I am leaning towards the Sony A80J for the Android OS.

In the past week, I watched several video reviews comparing A80J with LG C1. Two reviews (B-The Installer and Quantum TV) showed the LG C1 with “spot on” skin tone, and the skin tone on the A80J was “a little blue”.

I calibrated my plasma TV with the WOW Disney calibration disc and was satisfied with the skin tone. I would like to ask A80J/A90J owners or forumers,

1) if they see the bluish skin tone or are happy with the skin tone,

2) how is the skin tone out of the box, and

3) if they have improved skin tone by making adjustments to the colour settings.

I had brief views of the A80J before the video reviews. I was not aware then and was not looking out for skin tone from the limited contents. I will have to look closely, preferably comparing with LG C1. Before then, any comment is welcomed.

Thanks.

Just replaced my 10 year old plasma with the A80J. Picture quality upgrade is huge and I did not notice any weird skin tones.
You should be happy with the Sony, especially if you only plan to connect the Sony PS5 to it.

My plasma also have burn in issue after a few years. Didn't really bother me as it was really faint.

Thank you for sharing on the picture quality of the A80J.

Anyone able to get Atmos sound track from Disney+ installed from the TV? Can't get it from my X9000H. Can get atmos from Netflix and AppleTv+.

Thank you for sharing on the picture quality of the A80J.

I have a A80j. Even at default settings, I find the picture presented significantly more detailed (besides great blacks which is inherent of OLED tech) than my other Sony LED TV sporting the X1 Ultimate processor, especially when playing lower quality (SDR, 1080p/720p) content. IMHO, the new XR processing saved me a bunch as it allows me to re-enjoy my old Blu-ray movies (no need to buy UltraHD version), and make free streaming content look acceptable.

Skin tone is fine to my untrained eyes.. I cannot discern any issue, after comparing with the other LED TV, which is of Master Series classification.

You *may* get to buy a Sony PS5 (disc version) at SRP together with the purchase of a 2021 high-end Sony TV. Ask the Sales person at the Megastore for details if you are keen.

Hope that helps.

Atmos is not working on version 1.15. You’ll need to roll back to 1.14.2 to have Atmos playback.
